Hopefully a miracle will happen for him. If it doesn't, then few would argue that he didn't live a fulfilling and charmed life. His family will likely want for nothing financially so that is the good news. Just terrible for them to have to live in limbo not knowing if the one they love will ever wake up and be the same. Only time will tell and we will all be waiting and wondering....

Thing is that I always thought Michael was a D!CK on the track. But an absolute awesome human being off of it. The reality is that, this has nothing to do with Michael the driver but rather everything to do with Michael the father, brother, son, husband and friend.
For that I say, FORZA MICHAEL e AVANTI!!!!
One other thing, pro racing is extreme but in all the years I've either participated in it or watched from outside the car, being aggressive is normal but, taking someone out is never ok nor part of the equation. Do it to me and I will retaliate on or off the track! That's usually the case for all other pro or amateur drivers. It never works, besides notice all the pro sports-car races; the cleaner/less damaged the car is, the closer to the front they are.

I met Michael after the 2004 Canadian Grand Prix. We were guests of one of my closest friend's, Mansour Ojjeh, who had been invited to a dinner party hosted by the owner of the Tommy Hilfiger franchises in Canada. Michael exuded the kind of confidence that I have rarely ever seen. He was nice, engaging, friendly and very German. His wife and young son were there as well and she was very warm, friendly and to down to earth.
The host's son, who was about the same age as Michael's son (maybe 6 or 7) challenged Michael to a video game of grand prix racing. The kid had a ton of experience and Michael none. The kid won by 1 point. Michael was extremely competitive and I could tell that he was a bit peeved. At dinner we sat with Jean Todt, who was also very, very friendly. Between Michael, Ross and Jean they formed the best team that Ferrari has ever had.
After the dinner we went to a party where most of the team owners and drivers were in attendance. Michael was walking around with a big victory cigar.....At the time, Coultard and Kimi were racing for McLaren so I had a chance to spend some quality time with them. I don't think I've ever seen anyone drink as much as Kimi, he was plain old **** faced, practically drooling. - I hope Michael pulls through, but if he does he will never ever be the same.

Back on topic...
Last August 16th (2013) we had Michael Schumacher as a guest of 'The Quail' event in Carmel Valley. He participated in a very interesting & long 'Fireside Chat' interview by Alain de Cadenet (in the light color sport jacket) along with Ferrari collector William Connor II and former Scuderia Ferrari team manager Jean Todt! At least we got a chance to see Michael in top form one last time (see attached photo I took from the front row). He looked relaxed, tanned and extremely fit. Our prayers are with him & his family.
