I saw a set on an Exclusive last year - I thought they looked ok, however, I am in the same boat when it comes to curbing them - once done, very spendy to fix.

It my be apples to oranges, but I had a BMW GTS with carbon wheels and after 2 years, they were turning yellow! They definitely were not a good look once they aged.

I have them and think they look great, but have a set of HRE's for the same reason, once curbed, they're toast.

Are you talking about these Porsche Carbon Fiber rims like on my car? They are stunningly beautiful! I get lots and lots of very favorable comments about them. In fact, the only negative thing I have heard is on this board about curbing them. Maybe there are a lot of bad drivers here and yes if you are in the habit of curbing your rims you should definitely stay away. I have had 9 Porsches in my life, 3 currently in the garage and have NEVER curbed any wheel.

Porsche advertises them as 20% lighter and 20% stronger then the metal rim.

Lighter
Stronger
Less un-sprung weight
Less rotational Mass
Less road noise transmitted through the carbon as opposed to metal

The downside is they are expensive!

You should only take carbon fiber out when it's overcast...

Thanks for the article !

If the stated specs are correct, they are a total of 18.7 lbs lighter than the factory forged set of wheels. I dropped 17.2 lbs with the BBS F1R's, so the OEM CF would be another 1.5Lbs lighter.

Personally, I think that is an amazing look for these cars.
If I could find something aftermarket that came very close in appearance and wasn't nearly as pricey as those, I'd seriously consider it.
