Congrats! My two kids love riding in the Porsche. They have also learned to put their head back when daddy goes fast! Enjoy!

Absolutely! Although it was slim pickings on color (for finding the right car), I'm very happy to end up on black. Had a black RX-7 in the late 90's...cleaning was painful/often...but worth it, haha.

If your car hasn't been ceramic-coated, take it to a premium detailer for a surface decontamination (clay bar, etc.), paint correction/polish, and ceramic coating. The ceramic makes even black car care easy compared to the "old days." Virtually nothing sticks to the paint surface.

I rarely have to do a full hand-wash on mine. I use a CR Spotless water system on a roller cart, which I run through a low-pressure, portable electric power-washer, then blow-dry with an EGO high-power electric leaf blower. Very little sticks to the ceramic, and blow-drying virtually eliminates the possibility of swirl marks, which are more visible on black. Even good microfibers can cause swirl marks.

The process I describe above takes me about 15 minutes, which is easy to fit in to a busy schedule once a week or so.

You're the second member that mentioned owning a RX-7 prior to a TTS ( @Itcjmramos being the other one). I wonder if there's a connection

The good old days when I didn't have a care in the world. Got a 91 non-turbo in '99...and then a 91 Turbo that I held onto until 2007. Should have kept that one!

.
Thanks@Foosh - will definitely look into it. It still has PPF on the nose/hood/fenders but not sure if it was ever ceramic coated. Lots of possibilities popping up in my Instagram feed.

If anyone has recommendations in the LA area let me know, thanks!

I also had an 87 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II. Loved that car until all kinds of electrical problems started.
