Default Dream come true - 991 TTS

Aside from my kids being born...driving this TTS home was the best day of my life!

I've lusted after the 991 turbos for years, but it was never the right time. I lived in Taiwan the last 6 years due to a company transfer, and purchasing one there (or any import) would cost almost double the USA market value. After moving back to California in September, the search was on (and also waiting for prices to slightly drop, haha).

Years prior before leaving America, I had the chance to drive a 997.1 Turbo and 997.1 GT3...catching the Pcar bug. Made a promise to myself that I'd own one in the future. With 2 kids, though, the Turbo was the only answer. Ideally I wanted a 991.2...but most were a little out of the range I wanted to spend. I ended up finding a local 991.1, CPO, 2-year warranty, all maintenance documented and up to date, 22K miles, unmodified. Life goal - complete!

Been checking out this forum for years as a guest and appreciate all the amazing info, tutorials, and suggestions from members. No mods planned yet…just going to enjoy it and keep an eye on any maintenance.

Happy Motoring - Cheers!

Visiting the Stuttgart location in 2010 and a coworker capturing my daydreaming of owning a GT2...

Best...Day...Ever...

Kids like it!

Congrats! Great looking Turbo S!

Be careful with those Germany trips! I was perfectly happy with my 996 C4S coupe until I went to Germany in 2008 and rented a 997 C4S cabriolet. I visited the Porsche museum and drove the car around Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. When I got home, I bought a 997 Turbo cabriolet. It couldn’t help it! In 2014, I made the same trip, only I rented a 991 C4S cabriolet. It happened again, and I bought a 991 Turbo S cabriolet when I got home. I haven’t been back to Europe since then, and I still have the same car!

Congrats, I bought mine a month ago. I said the same thing about mods and planned to keep it stock but I already have a growing pile of bolt ons and a custom tune to load haha.

I would KILL to drive the Stelvio one day! (although the local canyons in Santa Monica aren't too bad, haha)

Noted on the trips to Europe, though. I'll try to keep that desire in check, lol.

haha, I hear ya. My last car in the USA was an EvoIX RS that went from stock in 2008 to 450@ the wheels in 2017, lol.

I can never say never...
