All of our cars were built with parts from the “junk parts bin”. 😊

That's why each car is unique.

My 2014 TTS trim piece around the shifter also says just "Turbo." Door jamb trim pieces say Turbo S. Startup screen says Turbo S, and rear lettering below the PORSCHE lettering says 911 Turbo S.

Sounds like the 991.1 says "Turbo" and the .2 says "911." That sounds like a parts cost/simplification move.

With all the options Porsche offers to make each car unique, it seems like offering the TTS moniker could have been a money maker.

I can only imagine how many options in the configurator have a 1000% markup

Wasnt there an example where the front replacement active aero lip was a few hundred $$$ more to emboss the "S" script instead of just saying "turbo"?

That is some serious fomo pricing power

Thanks for reminding me.

That part says Turbo S too, so now I'm only missing it on the trim piece around the shifter, but at least it says Turbo, and not 911. I knew the .1 was cooler than the .2 and with a much happier looking face.

No, no, no. Deleting the word "turbo" on the trim piece was a weight saving move to make the .2 faster than the .1

LOL . . . Au contraire. The engraving of "Turbo" on that aluminum piece requires much more metal shaved than the 911 engraving, thus making the .1 lighter.
