Sound Symposer?

Yes, and I've disconnected mine. Looking at. the engine the symposer is on the LH side of the engine. It feeds a tube that goes up to the firewall. I disconnected the tube and capped the hoses. I also went in the cabin and removed the rear most panel directly under the rear window. There I stuffed foam into the tube in the firewall. All in, about a 20 minute job.

Those would work better. I made these:
Now that you reminded me, I should redesign these to fit better/ tighter.

I don't understand why so many folks are bothered by the "symposer" and are motivated to plug it up. It's not like it's fake engine noise, and depending upon firewall design, there's always some engine noise entering the cabin. I think the amount and tone delivered is just right and sounds good.

And some of us would disagree. I plugged mine yesterday, and the engine sounds are more real, IMO. I do have a SW muffler delete pipe on so may be different sound than yours.

More real? Perhaps you mean less prominent, similar to adding additional sound-deadening material around the firewall, and/or inside the cabin.
The symposer is delivering "REAL" engine noise via a conduit through the firewall. As I said above, "real" engine noise in every ICE vehicle has always come through the firewall to more or lesser extent. with or without a "symposer." It may be more than some want to hear in the cabin, but I think it sounds great. Of course, individual preferences vary greatly.
I'm certain that the reason Porsche does it is because most like it. It's totally OK if some don't.
I'm running a SpeedTech X-Pipe without mufflers, but w/ OEM cats. I didn't perceive any drone with the OEM muffler, and I don't perceive any drone w/ the SpeedTech system. It's just a nice deep tone that I enjoy hearing in the cabin. I want my sports cars sounding like sports cars inside and outside.
Interestingly enough, with symposer, the OEM muffler sounded decent in the cabin, but not so great outside. The SpeedTech X-pipe didn't really change the noise level inside the cabin all that much, but produces a deeper tone outside, with a perfect amount of crackle and pop during deceleration.
