Is there a way to adjust the amount of brake assistance on a 991.2? I've ruined myself by driving a GT3 and prefer the firmer pedal feel. It's a bit easier to modulate and less grabby/touchy in town.

Second question — is there a way to adjust the pedal itself? For me, it's a tad high. It was one of the first things I did in my 993, bring the height of the pedal down a bit so it's a bit closer to the throttle pedal.

I imagine the GT3 has a more aggressive master cylinder... I have no idea if the brakes (Steel or PCCB) are the same across Turbos and GT3s but if they are you could swap them and get that same feel.

Ahh interesting. I forgot to mention that my car has PCCBs, so the same 410/390 setup as on the GT3 I think.

It sounds like then the master cylinder is what determines brake assistance and feel?

Doubt you need a brake fluid flush. Car is too new. Have the dealership check anyways.

Doesn't preclude the fluid being low. Check the level in the frunk.

It looks like a lot of previous-gen Cayman owners did something similar, swapping out for the 997 GT3 master cylinder and reporting very positive results in terms of a more solid pedal feel that was less assisted.

Suncoast has the GT3 master cylinder as an offering, though they aren't commenting on compatibility with other 911 models

For more road applications manufacturers typically put softer master cylinders so if someone cuts you off you can stop, but you won't cause a pile up behind you as you stop on a dime.

Had this same issue on my Ducati. I had a Monster 1200S a few years ago that used the same calipers as the Panigale superbike but the brake feel was no where near what I expected. People did swap out master cylinders and I ended up swapping out bikes

When my shop does upgrades to standard brakes (other than GT3) such as new rotors, big brakes etc., they install the GT3 master cylinder. I share your pain. I find the brakes in the C2 to be bit light and out of touch. Going back and forth between the GT3 and my C2 has vast differences, but the brakes stand out. The other is the opposite movement of the PDK, I have to get rid of one these cars.

Nice! So your shop *does* do GT3 master cylinder swaps on standard Carreras? For the 991 gen specifically?

Yes, they do it on the 997, so I can't imagine they would not do it for the 991. I am going in for some work tomorrow, I will ask them that question and get back to you with a definitive answer.

Resurrecting this thread. Is there any way to adjust the brakes for a firmer pedal or to adjust the brake pedal downward? I find it impossible to heel and toe in this car because the brake pedal is too touchy and too high.

If this brake master cylinder swaps, I'd do it too. The stock 991.2 brakes feel too light and to soft.

I'm not concerned about my ability to stop in an emergency, when the proper approach is to press the pedal so hard that you are trying to break the brake pedal from its mount.
