Default How long do you plan on keeping your 991?

I thought it would be interesting to get a pulse of owner satisfaction. I have had my 991.1 GTS manual tranny since new. Ordered it . Waited for it. Bought it rather than leased. I was in a 997 for about 10 yrs prior. I had a couple of early electronic issues with the ebrake on my car, but it has been great ever since. I don't see anything else in the current/ future Porsche lineup that interests me except maybe a GT3T, which looks basically unobtainable. I know that Porsche is always making the newer generation Carreras better and faster. My GTS is a better faster car than my 997 C2S. Is it a lot more fun to drive? Maybe. I'm thinking I will probably keep the GTS a long time and upgrade/mod the daily driver instead. Curious what others are feeling?

After getting rear-ended 3 weeks after delivery of my '18 GTS, and the imminent Carfax, I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact I will probably be taking that car to my grave.

I don’t see myself getting rid of mine for a long while. If I found a 991.1 gts that I really like or gt3 perhaps sooner rather than later. Maybe if Porsche went back to N/A in the 992 Carreras I would surely consider getting one of them! Lol

What is the status of that Gordon? Did your car get fixed properly and did you get something for diminished value?

Evidently Porsche follows these forums. Maybe this would be an interesting one for them to read!

I figured on about 5 years when I bought my 991.2 GTS in January (when I pay off my note). But, I like it so much, I'll probably keep it much longer

Can't see myself getting rid of my current car for anything else. Nothing I've seen checks all the boxes like this car does for me.

I will be keeping mine for at least 8-10 years, maybe longer. Only exception might be if something really bad happens, like another 17 year old girl hitting it and totaling it.

I ordered it exactly as I wanted it. Very special car to me.

The 991 is my first Porsche. Base on my past 20 years of ownership, I've never kept a car longer than 3 years. So I'll probably just get a newer car not sure what make. Cars I've owned more than once are Accords, BMW 3/M3, and Corvettes. I definitely see another 911 in my garage in the future. Definitely the most fun car I've ever owned.

A friend of mine has a Ferrari 458 Speciale. He drives an M3 Competition as a daily driver. But every day he can't stop talking about getting a Porsche 991TTS for his next car.

He loves the 458 but it's impractical. The M3 is fast but it's not as sexy. A couple of his neighbors have 991s and he literally drools at them every morning when they pull out of their garages

Just before 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Too many costly stealership repair stories out of warranty plus new tech is always refreshing.

Was thinking 3 years as I am in a lease, did it as the 992 option would be around the corner and as it was my first 911, it gave me more options. Now that I have seen and sat in a 992, I will be buying mine outright and keep it until I can swing a nice 991.2 GT3. No way I am giving Porsche back my car with a $65k buyout, especially since I know the prior owner really well, lol.

Thought about a GT car but it seems impossible to get an allocation. Otherwise, I don’t see a good reason to replace the GTS.

I might move within the 991.1 series for something juicy. Honestly, my car (14 C4S) is only a mod or 3 away from exactly as I want...(road wheels, steering wheel, b-up camera). This series 911 is much more horse than I am jockey...

I made it 5 years in my 991.1 4S and finally ordered a 991.2 a couple months ago. Longest I've ever had a car. Got tired of taking it in to address annoying but minor issues (like the brakes squeaking when I wasn't braking). It's been a great car but am looking forward to a new one.
