Default Extended Warranty on 991.1

I've seen another thread about a Porsche factory extended warranty but that thread talked about Porsche branded warranties. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with 3rd party extended warranty companies. My CPO warranty is expiring next month and the dealer told me that I cannot get a Porsche branded warranty. I've verified this with another dealer. I tried calling Fidelity and they sent me to Century Warranty Service (CWS). Their top tier program was $4620 for 2 yrs/24k miles. Has anyone used them or know of other viable options?

These cars are solid. 2 year warranty for $4652 is not worth it IMO. The only thing that can recover that cost is a PDK failure or engine scoring, both of which are not common.

I paid $3100 for a 5 year platinum plan - I’m having a $4000 repair done right now that will cost me $100, so I’m pretty happy. More on the repair when I get my car back.

Ya that’s more worth it. $620/year average vs $2300/year average. Wonder why it is such a large difference.

I agree Mojo, and i struggled with the price I paid ... your earlier comment is correct though. These cars are typically very solid, and the warranty companies are making good money. Every once in a while something big happens, and while I protected, i wish something big didn’t happen 😃

Thats who I used about 2 months ago....3/36k Platinum, $3700, $250 deductible. Easy Peasy. Mike’s a good guy. You basically get a 45% discount from list.

If you have PDK, I strongly recommend an extended warranty, they can't fix them, only replace at about $25k. I too bought a Fidelity Platinum when my CPO expired last year.

For those that are considering it keep in mind that it is best to wait until you have a few months left of your factory warranty left before purchasing, unless you are close to a milestone mileage such as 30k miles - Mike can explain.

It is 9k-13k if you send them the existing non working transmission.

I’ve just purchased my Fidelity Platinum for my 2015 991.1 GTS with 18000 miles for 7 Years/70,000 miles for $4800. I’ve just bought peace of mind for $57 a month.

The most important thing is how many miles you have in the car. The price changes at 25,000 miles and not 30,000 miles. Get your facts straight before posting incorrect information.
