I think you should move to another state!

It does look like a 250 GT Lusso, one of the most beautiful cars they ever penned. I think it's stunning, and a car that I could ALMOST own. I've had several F-cars, and now the optics don't jive with me. When you go to the factory and see how they operate and build them you realize just what passion is.

Lol @ the overly defensive responses from a post simply sharing an opinion and experience...

It's the finest car I personally have ever driven by a wide margin. After owning (5) Porsches 911's over 40 years (and still have a Macan S in the garage) it's time to try something new.
What is the saying.... "if you have the means, I highly recommend you picking one up"

(in reference to an Fcar in general, not necessarily just the Roma)

But at least radar detectors are illegal. Geez. Your plates in Ohio would be about $48 a year.
I like the look but no MT leaves me out. And, well, yeah the money a little bit too. But it doesn’t seem crazy expensive for the stats. I thought it looked best in the blue grey color on page one.
I’m glad you posted it here BTW. Probably wouldn’t have found it otherwise.

I'm loving these posts. Honestly, while its a beautiful car, It could just as well be a Lexus. I don't see anything in the design that says Ferrari to me. Of course, that's becuase it's a new design era and 10 years from now everyone will see Ferrari in the evolution of this design language.

But for the money, I'd take the 488 or a Mclaren. And regarding the Shelby comment, they are rough around the edges but glorious to drive. The GT350 I had was more than impressive for the money. As solid as my R8 for 1/3 the cost. I bought mine for 49k with 5k miles on it. It was the best performance value you can have. period.

The Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso is, IMO, the most beautiful car ever made.

#1. I don't like the styling of the new Ferrari Roma. I wouldn't buy one.

#2. Why is this on the 991 forum? Why are you comparing an older Porsche to a new Ferrari that's like 2.5 x more expensive? Wouldn't a better comparison be to a 911 Turbo S? Even then the Porsche would still be less expensive and a hundred times better looking.

Why is it not ok to share an experience here particularly if it involves cars, comparison to 911, and from a trusted RL poster. If you don’t want to read the post just pass it up. So much bellyaching for nothing, don’t read it. It’s not an infringement on your rights.

It's my opinion that it's a stupid looking car and a stupid place to post a review of it. If you don't want to read my post just pass it up. So much bellyaching for nothing, don’t read it. It’s not an infringement on your rights.

That's more than the property tax most people pay for their homes! Does it even go down with depreciation? I would assume /hope Virgina uses a different formula for calculating home tax!

Virginia is 4.57 % of the vehicles fair market value as of January every year, less the first $20,000 as “tax relief” of a vehicle. If you have a car that maintains its resale value well, it really adds up. That rate varies by County. Real estate taxes here are $ 1.15 per $100. Oddly enough, boats and aircraft are not taxed, just cars, trucks and motorcycles.

it’s a crappy law.

Looks nothing like a Ferrari to me. The design just doesn’t do it for me for the price, even though it’s technically a “correct” design.

The Roma is a GT car and a good one, but for someone like me each of my cars must serve a purpose (like winter fun car 911 Targa 4S winter sedan 2020 M550i, snow car RR Autobiography) even my dogs have a their own car (a Jeep Grand Cherokee). Before you decide to say something insulting, I was not born with the ability to feel emotions (only fear and that takes so doing to feel), so it is impossible to insult me. Because of that my sports cars are usually modified into something insane (without traction controls), that takes every bit of skill I have to keep them on the road when you drive them the even slightly more aggressively. The Targa's purpose is not to be a sports car (sorry but AWD is not a sports car to someone like me so I either turn them into RWD or don't classify them as sports cars), it is to be a winter fun car since my warm weather cars go into storage from November to April. I have an almost 50 year ownership experience with Porsche (I have a bit more than half of that with brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini) and while most people would say that I am a carguy (what that means to people varies), but I see cars as adult tinker toys, to be taken apart and played with, just machines as like all machines they can be made to work better. Labels on hoods mean nothing to me (500 Abarth, Miata's GTI's, TR6's MGB's and Spitfires I have owned and found they all had a purpose), but Ferrari for some has a mystic (I think a lot of folks have had too much of that Kool Aid) that I am incapable of understanding, but it does exist. I have been asked by many people to go with them to Algar Ferrari since them are uncomfortable just walking in there alone. In this area my name and my story are known by most (I never made it past the 8th grade and at one point was homeless living on the streets) people in the high end car world. When dealers have a special car (or a hard one to sell) I usually get a call. I don't dislike the Roma because of its looks, for me it is about what purpose does it have for me. The answer at least for me is none. Everyone is a car expert until they are not, simple perhaps but true, and like most things in life your opinions about cars tend to come from personal experiences. We all have had different experiences so we all have different opinions. None right, none wrong.
