I had never owned a yellow car in my life and I wasn't seeking it out. The most adventurous color I had previously was Carmine Red on a GT4.

I am man enough to admit I agonized over the same question. I searched and read many other threads on Rennlist about yellow Porsches and asked around.

Some people will say resale value is "hit or miss" because it's a bit harder to move a yellow car. Others will say that it gets unwanted attention from LEOs.

On the whole though, most people are pretty positive about the color. However, for me personally, I really had doubts I could bond with a yellow car.

Until I drove down to LA finally see the car in the metal.

It looked fantastic -- I signed the paperwork, drove it home, and after nearly one year of ownership and 8K miles, I have zero regrets.

If anything, the color has been growing on me over time. My only regret is that I seem to be taking way too many pictures of it. Seriously, I don't normally take pictures of my cars. For some reason I felt compelled to create an instagram account for this one...

This is great info. Im on the fence as well. Its a manual C4S 991.2 and pretty rare. Your car looks great!! Glad your enjoying it

I agree, and I contemplated that color when ordering my Targa GTS but Miami Blue was too hard to resist. For what it is worth back then people were not as welcoming to the color as they are now but IDGAF what others say and you should feel the same...if you like it get it!

I enjoy my RY Targa. And "just a desire to express themselves and to be unique" describes me at this point in my life. Good luck with your decision.

There was a bidding war on BAT on a yellow 997 C2, I think 2006, went for well over normal mkt price. About $47K plus 5% fee, plus shipping. Seller was in the right time right place as he had two who really wanted a yellow 997. Go figure.

Racing Yellow, yes! The color I chose for my 914 rebuild.

Now if you tell me you had a trailer hitch on this 997 and actually used it to pull that boat, I'll be seriously impressed.

Our 997 is in Speed Yellow & it's absolutely stunning, I think. Posting the same pic I've posted in the 997 Turbo forum. I actually had a guy stop in the middle of an intersection a couple of years ago to yell out how gorgeous the car looked! RY is sharp too, but I prefer SY. It's a bit darker, I think.

I set up this picture for my best friend who owned Kachina Boats as a joke! He liked it so much he used it in advertising with the slogan “Image is Power” ! He passed away about 10 years ago and I think of him whenever I see this picture! But no it didn’t pull the boat!

I just traded a 2016 991.1 in Black for this Yellow 992. I love the color - but it does stand out.

There was a local cars event where there were over 150 Porches and just three yellow cars in a sea of black, blue, and grey!

You say that like it’s a bad thing 😂

This. So much this. I mean there are as many reasons for owning a 911 as there are owners, but they just look good in bright colors. Put any bright-colored Porsche next to the black/grey/blue/chalk ones and you’ll see everyone gravitate towards the brightly colored ones.
