Just giving a shoutout for the excellent service provided by Michael Jourdan. I purchased a Platinum warranty two years ago. Michael quickly processed the cancelation and told me how much my refund was.

Default Porsche CPO Warranty Cheaper?

I’m buying a 2014 Carrera S w 38,000 miles from a Porsche dealer. The dealer did a full CPO inspection with compression/leakdown (passed) and did the full 40k service ($6700 for all inspections and work spark plugs, drive belt, oil change brake fluid, and other things). The dealer quoted me $5991 for a 48? 60? Month warranty (I’m waiting on specific info). That is actually less than the fidelity platinum quote I got online ($6421) Can that be right? I typically don’t get extended warranties but am considering one here. Thanks for any insight or thoughts.

Hm, are you sure they’re quoting a Fidelity Plan? And did you use our RENNLIST code?

The Porsche dealer isn’t using Fidelity (I’m still waiting on details). I plugged my VIN and info into the Steingold Volvo link and got a $6421 quote (less $200 rennlist discount).

Default Warranty info

I confirmed with the dealer that it is a 48 month, 60k mile Porsche CPO warranty. Time and mileage start accruing when I pick up the car. I will drive it about 5000 miles per year. $5991 for 2014 Carrera S 7sp manual w 38k miles.
I typically don’t buy warranties because I assume on average repair costs will be less than the warranty (or the warranty company wouldn’t make money) and paying any repair wouldn’t cause me financial hardship or issues.
Thoughts on whether to buy?

So it is up to 60k? Time will expire before your hit that. So basically your are buying insurance for 20k miles and 4 yrs.

I feel like that is the biggest difference between the CPO and the Fidelity. One is additional..

I have CPO on mine but it happened to be in the car when I purchased it. I figured if anything would go majority wrong it would be in the next two years.

I typically don't buy warranties either. My car has been in the shop all week. The dealer is chasing a rattle on it which makes me glad I have a warranty right now.

It is really up to you though. From what it sound like Fidelity is great and so is the CPO.

The dealer CPO warranty added 60k miles, so it would have expired at 97k miles. I would never put that many miles on it, though, given how much I drive the car. I ended up passing on the warranty.

I have quote that is very close to yours (same miles and years as well). I think its pretty reasonable. My dealer also wants to do an inspection prior to the purchase. Is yours?

My dealer did the inspection on their own before listing the car. It was comprehensive and included compression and leakdown on the engine.

If my primary concern is PDK failure, will the Fidelity Powertrain cover that?

For full coverage, I would choose Platinum coverage. Complete terms/conditions can be found here: https://steingoldvolvocars.factorypr...ditions.html#/

Just pulled the trigger on a 3 year; 36K mi warranty for my 2017 that will be coming off factory warranty - via Steingold. Currently have 34K miles and cost was just shy of $3,200.

Hopefully in 3 years I will have swapped this one out for a GT3!

If anyone is on the east coast. I went through Porsche Annapolis in Maryland. I bought a 4 year/48000 miles warranty. It's a Platinum VSP which can be used at any Porsche Dealership. I purchased my car through a private party and they were still able to sell me the Porsche warranty. They did have to inspect the car beforehand.
my car is a 2015 w/ 49k miles.

The warranty can be transferred or cancelled w the balance prorated.
