I replaced the engine deck lid shocks on my 991.1 C2S, and as a DIY it's right up there with the easiest thing to fix on the car. The easiest is replacing the battery in the key fob, but replacing the shocks is not far behind in simplicity. Buy aftermarket struts and save yourself a bundle. The struts cost me about $15 and 10 minutes of time to replace.
Extension deadline (nationally) is May 17th, then Texas is June 15th, so I'll have time to do it this or next month sometime. I am not used to 6-7 day weeks for 5-6 months straight like this... even my doc said to slow down. I can handle Jan-mid April, but not mid-June at the same pace.
