Vote for the 9xx Experience from me......Anthony came by my house and we did the install (CarPlay and camera) last week. Considerations for me:

1. You are engaged in the install - you don't drop the car off and someone else does it, nor are you on your own.
2. Quality: it's done right, down to using the right torque specs.
3. The unit is wireless - no need to plug in a cable
4. Sound quality: my bose system sounds better than before. Though the best sound still comes from way behind....
5. Get to control my radio handsfree (don't have the voice control in my Carrera)
6. Keeps the OEM look intact
7. You get to talk Porsche all day, while you do the install!!

You can get cheaper, you can try it on you own, but for me this was the right path. Highly recommend!

Great feedback on the experience with Anthony and 9xx. Did you happen to also replace the internal hard drive with an SSD while you had the head unit open?

Is there anyone in the Atlanta area that's done the Isudar install? Thinking about ordering for my 2013 991 but a little nervous about the install. Also would this install impact the warranty on a CPO car?

For those interested in Isudar, am looking to sell mine. Bought new last December and never installed. Was going to but then got a 2022 Macan with Carplay and realized that I really do not use Carplay that much, so putting it in the 911 would be a lot of work with little benefit. DM me. .

Have you seen the Ottocast Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto adapter - it’s a simple plug-and-play into your car for $150? No disassembly required.

This does not bring CarPlay to a car that does not already have it. It only converts wired to wireless CarPlay.

I have a 991.2 so it has carplay but not android auto. I bought the ottocast 2 in 1 wireless adapter from Amazon. I just plugged it in. Took 30 seconds to hookup. I now have functional wireless android auto! I only played around with it in the garage. Will test drive it later this week. But it seemed to work great in my garage! Waze, phone calls, Spotify all worked great. 👍👍

Ah yeah, I was assuming they already had CarPlay. It wasn’t evident from their post.

This whole thread is about adding CarPlay to cars that don't have it.

Please start a new thread and give us your review of the OTTOCAST after you’ve had a chance to play with it for awhile. I’m considering picking one up.

Thanks for going first.

I guess my car is a 2018 and my Android connects via Bluetooth, so I'd say yes lol

… and yet the title of the thread is “Adding Wireless CarPlay - 9XX Research?”

I would therefore disagree with your statement.

Yup and you would still be incorrect, as PCM 3.1 does not have CarPlay and each of the solutions discussed in this thread have been to add wireless CarPlay functionality to PCM (where no CarPlay functionality previously existed). I know it's a long thread, but you could read it.
