Thank you much! Also, thank you much Uncle Martin!!
Yes super pumped to dip a toe in to the water cooled arena - something I never thought I would do, but here I am. Digging into the innerworkings of the 991 now

As a follow up - last weekend my wife and son and I visited Vegas, stayed a few nights and looked at this car. Made a deal, shook hands and I fly back to Vegas this Saturday to pick it up!
During the week we have wired funds, placed the car on our insurance and even purchased a Fidelity Platinum extended warranty.
Is it wrong to be ordering parts for a car I do not have yet?
Lots planned to change the car to my liking.

I see that they painted the engine grill. Do you have more pictures of it? I wanted to do so on mine but I'm hesitant.

Congrats and welcome.
991's have beautiful lines (similar to the 993) and are far less busy around the rear than their successor.
I almost chose that color years ago, something I still regret not doing...

Duxi makes a point that resonates with me, "991's have beautiful lines (similar to the 993) and are far less busy around the rear than their successor." Maybe that's why the 991.1 S is so appealing to me....I do love my 2013 Carrera S...only had it since last April. My only regret is not buying one when they first came out in 2012.
Let's hope that Chris's 991.1 Carrera S is even better than he has imagined it to be.

Chris and I had our 993 cars for many years, me for 17, him for maybe that long, or longer....I see some pics of the my former 993 Carrera now, damn that was a beautiful car.

Iam trying to feel sorry for you :)
Now I feel less guilty about selling my 993 C4S 10 days ago. I thought that might be my last 911 after 3 997s and the 993, but am already considering trading my Audi RS3 DD in for a 991.1, as it has been 14 years since I started having a 911 in my garage and I'm not quite ready to ween myself off them yet. Of course, the robust market that worked in my favor for selling the 993 is working against me in buying a 991. The RS3 is quicker than the 991, but as capable as the DSG is in the RS3, it doesn't match a PDK, which I had in my 2015 Macan S. I don't know what color that is on Chris's car, but it is gorgeous. Oops, just noticed it is Amaranth Red.
For my search, I build a simple spread sheet, did a nationwide search with a fairly simple criteria. The 991.1 minimum requirements:
- Carrera S, got to have the 3.8 and 400 HP,
- PDK
- Sunroof of any iteration, delete.
- Amy exterior color but black,
- CPO warranty, from private party (PP)
, or a Porsche dealer. A non-Porsche dealer cannot sell you a Porsche CPO car...the warranty will only transfer on a PP sale. - Sport seats.
- Sport Exhaust (this can be added post sale), with hardware and install about $2,500,
- Any other options would be "nice to have" but not critical, keeping in mind that the Carrera S comes with PASM and PTV, standard.

My 12yr old son and I flew out to Vegas Saturday morning - we picked up this car and drove home. Learning the radio and hvac controls on the way home, uneventful thankfully. What a car is all I can say. Some pics along the way.

Since the window tint was too dark for me, had it replaced locally. Much less enclosed feeling while driving. Also, the side stripes are not my preference, so I removed them. Next step is to lighten the color of the wheels - will have to repaint. Color and finish undecided. Also giving thought to replace the rear badging with Chrome letters instead of the black. Maybe even remove the Carrera S and leave the PORSCHE, but in chrome to match the other accents.

Congrats!
I agree with the stripe removal and doing the de/rebadge w would look nice in chrome. Remember that the "PORSCHE" is applied slightly lower on the model delete cars.
I also agree with your wheel preferences. A set of Carrera classics would look sharp.
Enjoy!
