Default Engine blower fan connector clip tab

Hello all,

Does anyone know if the 991.1 engine blower fan connector tab can be replaced? I've got one broken, but I have no idea what the part is. I am not talking about the wiring harness on the fan side, but the clip with the tab that holds it from the car body/electrical system side. I understand the blower fans can be easily replaced, but that's not the part of the connector that is broken. It's the tabbed side that I want to replace.

I'm open to any suggestions and recommendations.

Thank you!

Thanks for the response! I did a search before posting my question, but I did not find the part I am looking for. I'll keep looking, but if you know of the post you mentioned, I would appreciate if you shared it.

I found a part in another thread, and it's the clip that holds the connector. It's called a HT Connector, but this is not what I need.

I need to know the actual wiring clip with the tab that the fans connect to that go back to the electrical system. That tab piece is what is broken. I was hoping I could replace that plastic connector tab part. Thanks!

Thanks for the response! Maybe I need to take the connector apart. Maybe I do need the HT Connector? Let me play with it, and I'll upload a pic if I'm still searching for the part.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful community here!

When I broke the tab that holds the fan connector together, I used this part to fix it. Used a depinning tool, no cutting, fixed in about 5 min.

The ebay link resulted in a message that the page was no longer available, so I'll post my solution to this common problem. BTW, the problem occurred on my early production 991.1. An indie mechanic friend suggested that Porsche probably sources the fan connectors from a US company. So I traveled to four LA auto parts stores and the last one had the right connector. Then I searched amazon and found it there…

I should also add that three dealers--including Suncoast-- told me that he connectors could not be purchased separately from Porsche. Rather, the harness that the terminates in the connectors had to be purchased for about $150. But none were sure of which harness was the right one. Anyway, purchasing the precisely correct $6 connector beats the hell out of buying a $150 harness.

The connector is called a 2 way Amp/Tyco Superseal connector. Google should turn up a bunch of them.

Right you are. They're all over the net, eg, on amazon...

Amazon Amazon

So you can buy 12 of them for $18 which works out to, lemme see, two orders of magnitude less than the dealer harness solution. Also saw the male only for 70 cents elsewhere on the net. LOL.

I just want to share how invaluable this thread was for me today.
I went to the local autoparts store and they all carried the same part: DORMAN 91441 Pigtail male female set for around $6 and a small thin jewelers screw driver.
I went on youtube and figured out how to unpin the connectors (search for unping pig tail connectors)

As it turns out you have to remove the red plastic shield and then using the very thin screw driver pry the plastic wire holder up and the wires just slide right off.

replace and voila you’re done and saved $150 for a new harness and hours of labor
