Default When is the last time you saw a new Porsche dealership open?

I live on the central coast of California and my nearest dealer is P of Santa Barbara about 90 miles to the south. I read about and am now seeing the signs for a new dealership in SLO. I thought, how will they get a supply of used Porsches like my 991and will PCNA give them extra allocations, especially of high desire GT cars or do they slowly have to work their way up the food/rewards chain? My wife is already on my back to get her a Cayenne because we no longer have to worry about local serviceability.

A new dealership opened where I live in Newcastle, Australia, about 3 months ago. They were allocated cars in advance, including 5x GT3 allocations. Since the dealer had no existing customer base, the GT3s were given to walk-ins on a first come, first serve basis, with the only stipulation that they were local buyers, not from out of town. They were gone in less than a week (no I didn't get one). They didn't have a lot of cars on the lot for their grand opening, but they had a 992, a couple of Taycans, and some Macans.

We had a new Porsche dealer open up last year about 10 minutes from my house. We now have 5 Porsche dealers in our area, which is pretty wild.

Supposed to be a new one opening in Nanaimo, BC. Not sure how well that's going to go. Vancouver Island doesn't have that many people, and there's already an established dealer in Victoria, which is only 90 minutes away from Nanaimo. The new dealership will only be an hour away from me, so that might be handy.

I have not seen one open up around me since I have lived in my area in PA, then again there are 3 porsche dealers within a half hour radius from me. 1 hour out and it expands to 9.

They opened a new dealership near me, about a year ago. When they opened it seemed like they had plenty of cars, both new and used. I now use them for servicing because they are so close.

September 2021 - Porsche Santa Clarita (Valencia/Magic Mountain area) opened (a Galpin operation) complete with underground museum and hospitality space. Just another ~2 hours "south" of your Santa Barbara location.

Is on Francis St., off Brand, in the way to SLO Airport. All they work on is Porsche cars, all models....I used their services from 2006 until 2018, when I left the Central Coast and returned to San Diego area.

The Manager is Nathan...tell him Martin referred you. The head Tech is Guy.....

SGS is my go to shop for the last 15yrs! Thanks for the responses everyone. I guess there have been a lot more new dealers than I thought especially SoCal. I wonder if existing dealers, especially the big ones, ever lobby PCNA to protect their territory

They all seem to be upgrading to the new style dealership or building a new building here in Texas. One just moved and opened up a week or 2 ago in Houston. Another is slated to be built this year in Houston.

There's a "new" Porsche dealership in Jacksonville -- though they just moved from an old location down the road.

About four years ago the old Honda space in River North had a 'coming soon Porsche Chicago' flyer in the window for about two weeks. I guess they opened a bit further south and your post is the first I heard of it. Not a single new sports car, and good luck getting above 10mph on a test drive anywhere near there.
