Quick Jack question

I bought the 7000 but wish I had bought the 5000. Why? The 7000 is HEAVY; hanging it on the wall, sliding it around, etc. are difficult even as a youngish, 6'4" 225lbs reasonably fit guy.
The 5000 can lift both of your vehicles, just make sure that the distance between lift points in both vehicles is compatible with the 5000 (it should be).

5,000 will be plenty. That's what I've got for my 991.1 C2S and it lifts my mom's 2007 Ford Escape no problem, too. And even the 5,000 is heavy!

Another vote for the 5000. I considered the 7000 but after hearing several people complain about the weight, I am glad I bought the 5000. It's been used on 991.1, E60 (will need extension kit), E90, Pilot SUV, Corvette C5. My only regret is not buying it years ago.

It’s not a great picture but you can see them hung on the far wall. I used the Quick Jack hooks mounted into studs plus a large lag screw as an anchor for a chain that runs through the Quick Jack end tube itself. Yes it’s overkill, but I sleep well at night.

I went with the 7000SLX that Costco had on sale last year, you can add the extension rails and it’s perfect for our cars but will also work with bigger SUVs and trucks. It’s hands down one of the best things I’ve gotten for my shop.

I hang them up on the right side of the bench and all the accessories go on the shelf above it. The bottom of the unit just touches the ground so the bracket holds no weight, solid setup.

I have a 7000 because of my Avalanche. Works fine under my C2S. Had to purchase the extenders for my CTS4 to work. Yes, they are HEAVY...I have even opted for the floor jack at times because i didn't want to drag them out.....would most likely just purchase the 5000 if I didn't have a heavy truck like the Avey. It's a great tool.

I wish it was water resistant though it would be awesome to wash and clean the wheel wells this way

I got the 5000 and it's perfect for my 991 but the length is very limit with my wife's 2016 Macan S. I was tired of having to spend time perfectly aligning the Quick Jack to catch the lifting points on the Macan and I just got the extensions from Home Depot as they have a good deal going on right now. The 5000 + extensions are perfect for the Macan.

Back on topic, you can see how my Quick Jacks are mounted in these photos. My garage has a poured concrete wall around the perimeter which is about 16". With it I had to mount the Quick Jack hooks quite high, making the hanging/unhanging as real chore. In another photo you can see the safety system I rigged up; chain through the Quick Jack and into a stud-mounted lag bolt.

I just push mine to either side of the garage. They aren’t so wide that the tires risk hitting them - as the mirror would hit the exterior wall of the house when pulling in/out of the garage first.
