Default How long is to long

I have a question regarding cars getting repaired recently. Anyone else out there waiting on their car to get repaired after a wreck? How long did yours take? Mine has been in the shop since November! And all I get for updates is parts are back ordered with no time line. How long is to long to fix a car and does Porsche do anything with a CPO car to help ease the pain of time lost? Just curious and wanting to vent. My car will not be fixed I am assuming before it's been gone 6 months. Anyone have helpful or encouraging words. Thanks

I'm in the same boat with a small leak, waiting a few weeks for parts. My work is being done by the dealer and they are able to provide a loaner Macan. It's no replacement for a 911 but I appreciate the gesture.

At least you are still driving a Porsche. Mine is at a body shop. So no Porsche loaner for me.

Ever since the first COVID pandemic I've experienced nothing but huge delays in getting mechanical repairs. This not only on my Porsche but also on a Mercedes C63S that I had, before trading it in on my 991.2. I have not been able to get an answer for the delays, over a months wait in both cases, from the dealerships.

Had this small issue where the stereo shop backed my car into a Jeep. My local dealer said a long back order and then crickets. I ordered it from Byers Porsche in Columbus, OH and drove up to get it saving $400.00 in shipping. Arrived in 5 days from placing the order. It took 2.5 months for a simple bumper purchase and painting. I installed myself as it was just the cover and did the air filters. Everything is delayed. Sorry about your predicament.

Sheeesh. Is your car getting repaired by the dealership or an independent body shop? What parts are you waiting on? At this point, you can definitely source an OEM mirror and rear bumper in close to mint condition on eBay. It won’t be “brand new” but after paint it will be just as good. Also it beats waiting 6+ months. But that’s just me.
