991.1 Decklid / Grill needed
Curious if anyone here would have a .1 decklid / grill I can purchase or even borrow if in the LA area? Need to 3D scan it - would take a day to do.
Something like this example image..
Many thanks!

I live in DTLA and have an unpainted brand new one. Happy to sell you the unpainted new one at a more than fair price. But it's JUST the slats, not the entire lid assembly. The dealer sells them for around $400+ so Happy to let it go for $200, still in the box.

I have the grille insert only and not the entire decklid. If that works for you, PM me I'm local

Everbody loves Chris, a prolific contributor to Rennlist over the years. "Is this a great place, or what?" Really pleased to see so many SoCal locals stepping up to help him with this project.

I'd even be willing to remove my entire trunk lid if you really only need it for a few days. I have an exhaust swap to do and this might get me started on disassembly!
You referred me to C & C collision, and Nate, so I owe you one.

Aaaaha! Chris told you about a collision repair facility: C & C Collision · 518 S Palm Ave. Alhambra, CA 91803. Directions · (626) 284-2120. CA. SoCal Rennlisters will kmow where Alhanbra is..I know I do...If Chris recommended it, it must be good. Few know, eat and breathe Porsche cars as Chris does!!!!

Yeah for some time been thinking about an approach to design something more appealing for the .1 cars - key is to design something with a mfg. method that avoids high tooling costs (i.e. injection molding, hard tooling) to allow for reasonable part pricing but with some flexibility of surface finish. Always though these grills should not be body colored, the contrast is good (IMHO) - avoiding paint work also helps keep costs down.

Its been many, many years but I recognized your name from my days of inhabiting the 993 forum (early 2ks?). Glad to see a familiar name/poster again!
