911R engine cover and duck tail?
I was on the phone with Suncoast Porsche Parts to find out more on their 911R grill.
The sales guy basically said it’s not recommended to install this grill/engine cover if you have a duck tail…
I mean before I blow 4K on an engine cover I was hoping to see anyone else’s feedback or advice on this
I was also hoping someone would have come up with a much cheaper solution for this but nope… they haven’t!
By the way - if someone has a line on one cheaper…please help a brother out!!

I actually dropped off an engine lid to a guy that works at Singer, he wanted to laser scan to possibly build an alternative slatted engine lid. I should reach out to him to see if it's something he's still looking to do.

It wouldn't be sold by singer, it would be a side project for an individual who works there. His goal was to make it more economical than the OEM porsche prices

I guess what I am trying to say as well is that 4K is a lot to “test” fit something and it not work.
The old price at 2k was much more reasonable and worth it.
Did that guy ever get back to you on making these parts?

GTS grill will be a lot less expensive and still improves the look.

Wow - you found one of the cars that was my direct inspiration for my build and one that I still have in my photo album!!
Those are E07 wheels but only come in 19s. That’s why I went another route with mine.
I do like that GTS slatted grill but was hoping for the unique 911R one since my license plate and dream car.
thanks for the kind words!

Also even 2k for that plastic part seems absurd.

Now that the Turbo S based Sport Classic has shown the way, still waiting for someone to come up with a lightweight 991.2 Ducktail to replace the moveable wing.
