I get mine form my local Porsche dealer. Usually no problems getting them and they match or sometimes beat Tirerack prices.

Weird how some dealers have them in stock and even more amazing that they will beat discount tire store pricing

I suspect they match Tirerack pricing because they make $$ on the install / balancing.

If you were to take the tires to another shop to install I am curious what the price they would charge you.

FWIW my dealer had Cup 2 in stock (in the spring) and matched TR pricing when I asked. They didn't offer until I asked though as I suspect most pay whatever they ask. They also had PS4S and P Zero (OEM) in stock this summer.

Firestone installed and balanced my Contis for $92,58 and did a good job, no problems except I didn't know where the wheel lock key was until my wife said It's probably in the frunk which was correct.

Closest tire store to me charges $25/tire and if you have ever watched them try to carefully get a 305 size tire carefully off of the rim, that price seems like a bargain to me. This is where I would like to have the right tires sent as the place is right down the street. According to the Porsche dealer today they can get one pair (the fronts?) in a couple of days but the other is on back order. They suggest I use AO (Audi) spec of the same size. I think I will keep looking.

I agree that the tire installers work for the $$$.

I have a tire shop that installs tires well and I would consider taking tires to them as well. Will casually ask the dealership about pricing and then try and walk out with the tires when paid for

Ordered over the holiday weekend. Unfortunately Discount Tire didn't have the 305's in NO so I had to settle for the Ford designation. I hope my car doesn't break down once installed.

In the 30+ years that I've been buying tires for my family's cars, NO one can touch Walmart's prices!
Every time I need a set, I search everyone (Discount, Tire Rack, dealer, NTB, etc.) and Walmart is always the best.
Yes, they have Michelin and Pirelli P-Car tires too. They will have to order them, but they will be able to get them.
$27ea mount/balance w/road hazard ($17 w/o hazard).
I will have no problem taking my '05 C2S to them when it needs it's next set of tires.

Having said all of this, Discount will most likely price match Walmart's prices if you would rather do business with them.

I am getting ready to replace my aged out tires and am ready to start shopping. I hear good things about Hunter Road Force balancing that TR uses on their tire/wheel packages. Do any of the major seller/installers use it? Is it just hype or is it best? Any experiences with tire balancing, good or bad from NTB, Tire Discounters or other places would be appreciated. TIA

The only 305 michelins PS4S I could find 2 months ago in Canada, were Audi's A0 specs. Can't say I notice anything different.

Default update to the thread....

....I started awhile back. I actually called Michelin customer service yesterday to ask why it was so hard to find 245/305 together in the N0 (Porsche) spec. Turns out Michelin is showing out of stock for both 245 and 305 NO with none scheduled for production for at least a month. If anyone is getting these tires it is probably because there are a few in a dealership or warehouse somewhere. Frustratingly the rep could not tell me what if anything were the differences between Audi, or for that matter I guess Ford or Ferrari spec, compared with the Porsche spec. I doubt I can wait a month so I may just go with one of these others.

I had some new tires put on my 13 X5M a few years ago and had a highway vibration that persisted after several balancing attempts. Finally bit the bullet and paid the extra coin for a road force balance at a Tire Discounters and that did the trick, still good to this day.
