Scratch on CPOed 991 Cab Soft Top
I'm currently looking at a CPOed 991.1 Turbo Cab, but noticed a scratch on the soft top (my finger for size reference). I live in Seattle, so water intrusion is a concern. Dealership is having their interior leather guy take a look at it, but I'm curious how much of a concern this is. Is this a hard no-go without a full replacement? Or are there acceptable repairs that will hold up, especially with CPO? Any input is appreciated-- thank you!

My 2014 991.1 had several that looked like that and no leaks. Satisfy yourself that the top is watertight. Buy the car. Use the convertible top treatment of your choice every 6-12 months. Enjoy it.

If that's the only "scratch", than the top was hardly used. There are several "pinch" points along the C pillar where the mechanism folds. Rest assured, that's a normal one.

What is the reddish brown debris on the rubber molding?

Let us know what you decide.
Stuff like this on soft tops is the reason I buy hard tops. Scratches/creases like that would drive me crazy.

Congrats. It is a beauty. Love the wheels. Enjoy.

If it continues to wear down where you’ll need a new top CPO won’t cover it and neither would the original factory warranty. Just keep in mind because replacing the top is very, very expensive.
