I upgraded PCM on 991.1 to Mr12volt becuase I read about better audio quality over the others and I'm 100% satified with the solution. Took about 1 hour to install and I have 0 connection issues. The only downside is the PCM uses older screen with slow/limited multitouch support so scrolling screens does lag but you can use the button to scroll and that works very well. I really like the OEM look and for $500 you can't beat it in my opinion.
I've upgraded to the 991.2/Macan wheel in my 991.1 and my main concern is the diamond (joker?) button that I've currently programmed to skip to the next track - will that functionality be retained?

I tried a few CarPlay retrofit solutions. I finally went with the Mr12Volt retrofit which directly ties into the optical system. Works rock solid and uses the factory microphone, rear camera, parking sensors, etc... I looked at the aftermarket headhunt stuff too but many of them had their own set of quirks, just my 2 cents.

I had the gen1 NMauto solution and worked great great for years. No real issues with except for the occasional drop out and reboot issues (1-2 times a month).
I updated my system to the Mr12Volt. Between the rock solid wireless and direct fiber integration it's a no brainer. Esp as all the other solutions feel more hacky.

Do you have a multifunction wheel? Do the controls work in CarPlay or Android Auto?

Did you have to install the separate Pioneer Bluetooth microphone to be able to make wireless calls / use voice commands? If so, where did you run it to and hide it? Also, where did you run the external USB cord to plug in your phone for CarPlay / AndroidAuto functionality? Front passenger Glovebox or somewhere else?
External USB-C cord for Carplay and Android Auto ran under armrest, HDMI cord ran into glovebox.

There is no reason for porsche to update 3.0 and 3.1. They are touchscreen and have Bluetooth already. Return on investment would be horrendous. Plus, have you used the pccm... It's not even wireless connectivity.

I have been trying to pick a CarPlay solution for a few months. The one hiccup I keep coming across is that PCM's with the XMRadio board seem to create extremely tight clearances when trying to put the PCM back together. Do you, or anyone else have experience with a CarPlay solution that plays well with the XMRadio board?
