Anyone ever remove the Targa logo?
Think it would look so much cleaner without targa on the bar. Any Porsche guy knows what it is, and those that don’t really don’t matter :-)

That Targa text has been part of the bar since the first targa. It and the gills are truly iconic. It would look weird without it.

I'm debating changing the wheels on my '18 and considering gold/bronze wheels. The original targa models had the option of a gold emblem for the bar. Is there a source for something similar for the new ones? All I've seen on porsche parts databases online are black and chrome.

I feel like removing the Targa text from a Targa would be just as sacrilegious as removing the Porsche emblems to replace them with Nissan badges. My first reaction to your question was "why in the world would anyone want to do that," but to each their own.

I have removed the chrome version on the bar and replaced it in black. I used a hair dryer and dental floss to get under the letters and slowly pulled the entire "targa" away as one big piece. I would suggest maybe waiting until it is warmer outside to do it or during the summer. Dead of winter will likely take longer but probably still doable.

Mine were removed by the original owner, the bar was wrapped in black and black "Targa" emblems were added. I have the original emblems and they look from the back the same as the emblems on the back of the car. As others have said, some heat should make them fairly easy to remove.
