Default Door hinge

Driver's side door making some noise when opening all the way. Is there a procedure for lubricating the hinge and what's best to use for that? Thanks.

Wouldn't surprise me if they said thats 'cosmetic' and wont replace the door guide.

They're cheap anyway. I just bought two a few minutes ago on Suncoast for $41/each.

I spray silicone lubricating spray around and inside the hinge area. It helps quiet down the door noise when opening and closing.

Mine is a 2017 and it's likely the door guide. Not sure that I'm up to taking the panel off to replace it. Probably just lubricate it for now.

Use Boeshield T-9 lube spray. I did mine 3 yrs ago and never made noise again and it was really bad.. Made by Boeing to use on their planes and by far the best lube made.
It will last and not wash off with water.

I believe there is a Porsche replacement lever door hinge made for replacing squeaking door hinges on 991s. I think I saw it at Suncoast Porsche. I recall it was a plastic/composite material rather than metal. I'll stay with the original metal hinges, periodically lubricating them.

It is probably the check straps. I replaced both of them a couple of years ago and since then it has been 100% perfect. There was no amount of lubrication that could solve the problem.

It's an extremely easy, DIY-friendly swap.

I need to do the 2017 as well.

When my 2013 doors did this they just lubed them up with what looked like white lithium grease and they never made a noise since.

I didn't know that's what they're called but I do recall someone in another thread (maybe the bug rattle/creak thread?) noted with a picture that these are noisy as hell. Mine are making a racket on my 2018 and I was just looking for a DIY on YT but came up short. If there's a guide somewhere I'd surely read/watch and do this myself! Lube is not making the sound go away.

Had the same. I sprayed inside the door panel around the guide, and it did nothing. So I sprayed the hinge bolt, and whisper quiet now. White lithium grease.
