And Just Sat There !
Pulled in the driveway at dusk; cloudy day, temp in the low 60s. Just enough for a little wool.
Ex-aviator that I am, went through the mental checklist:
* seatbelt off
* sport mode off
* targa top closed - counted all 76 miracles
* ac/heat off
* heated seats off
* heated steering wheel off
* Escort off & stored
* phone disconnected
* cup holder in dash
* radio volume down
* loose items stored
* little rev & key off
And just sat there ………with the butt stil vibrating a little in that comfortable 18 way, looking at the dash, the instrument panel, passenger seat, over & over. I didn’t want to get out.
This ever happen to anyone else or I the weird one?

I have to admit to being just as crazy.
Some days when its too cold to drive I stroll out to my barn and just sit in the cockpit and take in the sights and smells of the cabin. Its a magical place to me. I consider myself fortunate to own such an amazing machine

I bought my lifetime dream car and my first Porsche 991.1S and drove back about 600miles after buying it with my Wife. I was so fricken happy on the drive home that my eyes teared. I was living my dream but my Wife thinks I'm an idiot.
Thats why I now spend more time with my car than my wife. LOL

Not only weird, but why turn off all those settings. They all turn off when you turn off the engine, then turn back on after re-starting. The only thing I do is disconnect the seat belt.

Not sure about the original poster but I was just making the point that owning this car at least for me was a dream I've had since I was a kid. So yes when I'm in my car I do feel like a kid and that's the point.

Grow up? Ha! Son, I’ve been driving P cars since 1965 and still get a rush every time I turn the key. No offense taken, but if that classifies me as weird, guilty as charged. Glad I still have a little passion in this journey:-)

My wife was happier than I was when I bought my 991.2 GTS. She was almost crying.
I was very happy, but it was me who kept putting off buying it. Wish I bought a Porsche a 15 years ago.

I pet my 2013 C2S Cab every time I walk past her in the garage to let her know how much I love her. This is a dream car for me that was only possible due to a small inheritance.

During hibernation, I get in the car just to get my fix every few weeks. I don't do that as much as I used to, but it is enjoyable to get in after being away for awhile.

I've owned about 10 p-cars, been driving them nearly 40 years. I truly love the thrill of driving them, from 944's to our Macan S and now my MT 991.2. An absolute thrill as I run through the gears on the twisty roads near my home here in Colorado. They will give you as much joy as you can get out of a car.

it looks like you have driven P-cars long enough to know they SHOULD turn off. Many here have tried to start the day finding a dead battery. I’ll continue to take a minute to know they are off. File/exit vs X :-)
”I would have taken offense” - thanks, but really do not need to get into a war of words for everyone’s amusement.

I do the same in both my 991.1 C2S and 996.1 C4.......my wife thinks I'm weird, but I do find myself looking at them intently thinking of the next possible mod to be done! LOL :P)

I'm an aviator too- and my checklist for my airplane just says "master switch off" because the old school turn everything off manually was due to old school design, and modern systems are better.
