Default Picking up 991.2 tomorrow…

Bought a 2018 991.2 C2S from the Porsche Dealer in Charleston, SC. Renting a car and driving 3.5 hours to pick it up. Not looking forward to the drive down in the rental car but the drive back in the 991 will be fun! The color is Chalk with 20” Black wheels. I have a friend that has a Macan in Chalk and I really like it. Bought it without personally looking at it but my son in law was at the beach house and went by and said it looked great. It comes with a 2 year CPO, so I wasn’t too worried about the mechanicals.

I paid $97,000 for it, which is on the high side, but this car was highly optioned with everything I wanted so I said what the hell I'm getting it. Will post some pics when I get back.

It’s a lot of car for $97k. I think you’ll be very happy with it the more you drive it and enjoy its capabilities. Should take a scenic route back and hit up some twisty roads in the Appalachia.

$97k sounds like a fairly good deal for a .2 CS. How many miles if you don’t mind? Manual or PDK?

Yes I’m in the market 😎

That's not a bad deal and CPO is a great investment. I bought CPO 991.1S last year and drove from Jacksonville where I bought it back to S. Florida and I really enjoyed the drive so I'm hoping you do as well. By the way my PDK crapped out about a month after buying the car. The repair bill from the P. Dealer was just under $33K and was covered by CPO.

Congrats

Congratulations! With CPO you have two years to get everything in the car, “sorted”.

Thanks for the encouraging comments! The car has 45k miles. It’s a PDK. This will be my first PDK Porsche. Never thought I would have anything but a Manuel,

Lot of fun miles ahead. The Dragon is a short reroute heading home :-) The current and last P-Car is the first PDK after almost 60 years of manual. Never have a moment’s thought to a PDK & then had an opportunity to do a few laps in one. I was sold after lap #3!

Get a PPI done once you ger her home....er would it be called than an API - After Purchase inspection? Then you will have an idea of what things to try and target while you still have the CPO.

Default Photo of my new 991.2!

Picked the 991.2 C2S Thursday at Porsche Charleston. Justin was my salesman and was great to work with. The car was just as advertised, even better than expected! Spent the night at my sons beach house at Seabrook Island, about 40 minutes from the dealer, unfortunately it added 40 minutes to the drive back to Greenville, but I was to tired to get back on the road Thursday.

This is my second 911. Had a base 2007 c2 that had 325 HP. The 991.2 S feels so much faster. The low end torque the turbos provide is amazing! I was running 80-85 mph with short bursts over 100 mph and averaged 29 mpg!

Now for the important part, the sound. I had a Fabspeed Max Flow with X51 headers on the 2007 base Carrera that had the high pitch howl when you got to 5000 Rpm, the 991.2 has a much throatier Sound which sounds amazing as well! I’m not sure what a base 991.2 sounds like but my base 2007 was way too quire For my taste.

My only disappointment with the car is the inability to lock it with the car running and the ac on. I have a small dog with me a lot of times. The salesman suggested keeping both keys in the car and locking it with the second key. Haven’t tried it yet but it’s not the ideal option.

Its raining today, so probably won’t get much seat time, but I have things I can do/program in the garage.

Thanks again for all the nice comments, after seeing the car in person I don’t regret the price I paid!

In May of 2023 we bought a 2019 Base Cab from Lamborghini Miami,...
Advertised on a Friday, we called and went to look at it Saturday morning when they opened
Started looking at the car, took a test ride, decided to buy it $95,000, 36,000 mile 2 owner, PDK,Guards/Black/Black, Bose, Carbon fiber inside, 18 way heated and cooled, Sport exhaust, Serviced, almost new Michelins,,(for some reason no folding mirrors or clock!)
While we were dealing, about 10:30 2 other people showed up and started looking at it...they go fast
Also bought a Platinum Warranty
So far we have only put about 1000 miles on it and it seems OK...nothing funky (we have had a bunch of P cars before this a few earlier 911s, (going back to 1979), 2006 911 Cab, 5 Boxsters, and are on our 2nd Macan S lease
These cars seem to be holding their price....
