2012 GTS. Maybe in several years I would get a 991, assuming I like the car. But, the GTS is such a great car, it will be hard for me to get out of it.

My '09 C2S suits me just fine. But sometime before 2016 when the mileage regs change, I can see myself in a gen 2 991, GT3, red with black interior, sport buckets, deviating red stitching..........

2010 C4S. Initially, when everyone was complaining over the new design-- front, rear, Panamera interior, etc., I was actually blown away by the beauty of the 991. Now, while more and more are falling gaga over the new 991, the more I see it, the less I like it. It feels less 911 than mine, and hence the more I like the 997 design. I may change my mind later, but I don't want to regret spending lots of $$$ only to be jealous of those 997s still out there. To me, the 997 is the new 993. You will have to do a heck of a lot more than the 991 to pry me out of the 997.

<--- White '07 Targa 4. I'm very happy with this car, and probably will be for some time. The main reason for getting a new one would be to get that one option I regret not getting last time: Euro Delivery!

2007 997.1 C4S. 100% NOT going to get into a 991 anytime soon... earliest would be 2013, and ONLY IF the Electrical streering and the overall new dynamics of 991 has not dumb down the 911 feel. If so, I'd be getting a 997.2 GTS or GT3 at that point.

I think I posted earlier in the thread that I wasn't in a rush to get a 991...but with the ability to skip the sunroof and spec a ducktail I'm now spending WAY too much time on the configurator!

I used to own a 997.2 C4S; the car was with me for 2 years

I changed the exhaust twice and even after that, I never connected with the car

Modern Porsches don't have soul, they are too refined and you see them everywhere -- The only exception is the GT3 or GT3 RS

That said, I will not buy a 991 "base" car, but I am waiting how the next GT3 will be

997.2 exhaust (non-GT3) is notorious of being totally inadequate for a 911. I was absolutely SHOCKED when I drove a 997.2, it was significantly more muted than 997.1.

Maybe a get .1 until 991 GT3 comes out.

Hahahaha... what ever you do.... do not go on the European spec configuration sites (German, Dutch, etc)!!!

Waaaaay more choices to go nuts over (including ducktail, areo front, etc.), NOT FAIR

My understanding is that Porsche Exclusive was given the task of developing the Sport Exhaust on the 991. They received high praise from PAG for creating the 'special' Sport Exhaust option for the Spyder and Cayman R which has been a huge success and it's extremely well liked by those customers! Let's see what they can do this time around on the 991. Saludos, z356

Own a 2010 GT3 w/DEM and a host of other necessary OEM goodies. I am presently awaiting news on the 2013/2014 GT3/RS to decide what ~ if anything ~ I may do.

I really dig some of what the 991S represents. I think the 991 GT3/RS will both be monsters. Time will tell.

FTR, I just spec'd put a 991S with what I believe to be the proper build and arrived at a $128,500 MSRP. That is more than my current GT3s MSRP by $5k, even with GG applied to the GT3. And, I am not missing anything I would want on my 3.

Yes, the 991S may be close to a GT3 on the Ring (w/PDK, SC, PCCB, PDCC, etc...) but I do not believe it will have the presence of the 3. With that said, the 991S will still lag slightly behind the .2 3s in most, if not all, speed contests. The 991 GT3, however, should be wicked but I estimate its MSRP at over $140k w/PDK, etc...
