You'll be able to do this faster with PDK....

Maybe a little faster but the interaction with car is what I'll miss. Love the sound through gears.

You think that there's no shift sound through the gears with PDK?

If I didn't have to fart around traffic when traveling through LA and the Bay Area I would get the manual.
Or say if I lived up in Tehachapi or Nevada City; that's seven speed country.

I love it. But I didn't see him get into 7th other than what looks to be a missed down shift. He blipped and went into 7th and then back over into 5. Do we REALLY need the 7th gear? Regardless, it looks like a total blast.

Total blast for sure...especially when passing a transport at 170 mph on a two lane...

Why wouldn't you? its just like a tight ratio 6 speed with a gear to cruise at low rpm at highway speed.

there is no downside aside from maybe 10lbs in extra weight, if that.

Wow. That is impressive. I was driving mine today and it sure did not look/sound like that! I'm looking forward to taking a spin in one. 7 yrs newer technology than mine. I wish more of the reviews were of the manual.

We may not, but Porsche does. It gets the average MPG and CO2 numbers down across the board and helps meet EU standards for these.

You CANNOT beat the feel of a manual bar none. Trade off is more work in traffic.

Agreed. Nothing like executing a proper toe heel downshift. I don't care if PDK is faster. May as well let a robot drive the car. If I had my way F1 would go back to manual shifting.

Manual transmissions will soon go the way of side curtains!
