Feb Road and Track 991 C2S test :991 0-60=3.7 sec!!!!
Just saw the latest road and track in which they tested a 7 speed manual 991 Carrera 2 S and the acceleration numbers are eye opening....literally as quick or quicker than a 997.1 GT3
This is nearly as quick as Car and Drivers 0-60 numbers for their 991 C2S PDK (3.6 sec) and I read on 6speedonline.com that motor trend also got 3.7 sec 0-60 in their review, though I am not sure if that was for a 7 speed manual or a PDK.
For sure, the 991 C2S is a very, very fast car!!!

I agree that is fast, but I think 0 to 100 is more indicative of acceleration. The factors that can help with a good 0 to 60 time, such as temps, launch, gearing, drivetrain, get diluted as the end mph increases.

I'm curious why Porsche has been a bit mum about the base C2. I can't remember if they did that with the 997 launch. It does make me think that the base car will either outshine the S (wouldn't that be funny) or be totally crap.

the test for the car and driver didn't have sunroof which is interesting.
would love to see someone test a base model, but i've been told they aren't going into production for a little bit now... (my base build isn't coming until april but ordered when they came out)

From what I was told is that the 3.4 new base engine is not ready yet...so there is delay.

I just read the Motor trend article today, and I think it was also 0-60 in 3.7 for a manual...

C&D results:
0-60: 3.6s
0-100: 8.6s
1/4 mile: 12.0@118mph
And even though their example was spec'd out to over $131k, it beat out the Z06 ($102k) and 2013 GT-R ($92k) in total score. They really loved the way the car drives/feels...

BTW, I do think the Z07 (carbon Brembo) equipped Z06 is the best Corvrette ever made and a better car than the higher powered ZR1. There is just one thing that bugs me, the weight. How is a Z06 carbon edition with carbon bits replacing fiberglass bits, lighter carbon brakes and lighter wheels 150 lbs heavier than the same car with the supposedly heavier parts was in 2007?

Guys... be careful with those numbers, that includes .4 seconds of roll! So, the TRUE number is more like 4.1 for 0-60, which is still impressive.
