Default 991 in the Snow

My dealer took this video with a 991 S after the recent snow storm. Some streets had ~6 inches of fresh snow. The car handled great and was outfitted with Michelin winter tires.

I drove it and it was very stable in the snow and slush.

many of the cars they use in the snow are RWD... the car has the right setup for it... i wish i lived where it snowed... would be out there every day... i have a friend that is head of marketing for porsche and he drives the cayman in the snow all the time no problems (RWD only vehicle)

The engine over the rear wheels is the key along with real snow tires. Not mud and snow tires. I've driven in snow in my 911's for many many years and they performed beautifully.

I've driven a 997 C4S year round in MN, and the only time I was stuck is the day we received 3 feet of snow.

SO nice seeing someone comfortably driving in snow and in a well equipped vehicle!

During a normal winter, I drive mine every day in the snow (this winter is more like spring). I absolutely love how my 911 (997TT) performs in the snow.

I had a related question. I'm debating which 991 Cab to buy -- CS (2WD) or C4S. I live in NJ, and while this winter has been crazy mild, we usually get a decent amount of snow. I won't use this as a daily driver all winter long (SUV for that), but inevitably will get caught in the occasional storm. Crazy to run with the C2S? How will it handle in snow / sleet with good winter tires? Appreciate any opinions on this...thx

It's nice having all the weight sitting on top of the drive wheels.

Had a 997S and loved driving it in the snow. Only issue is clearance if the snow is too deep.

I'm not about to put Winter tires on my 996 GT3. A Jeep is the solution!

My 997 is a DD, and I even drove it in the snow the first year. The last day I drove it in the snow was interesting. A lady on a cell phone, driving a Land cruiser; spun out as she was driving towards me. Luckily she stopped about 10 feet away.
