Why do you think I used it?

Also like the Platinum wheels on the car in the foreground. The blue primer one.
Those Carrera S wheels in Platinum would probably look smashing with Anthracite Brown Metallic. And PCCB calipers. Which, if you cover up the blue primer, its easy to imagine being on the Anthracite cars.

I would have thought Porsche would use a more neutral color primer, but perhaps its the blue that interacts with differing lighting to generate all those sophisticated ABM hues.

Gosh, I could swear it looks blue in the last pic! Ha ha!

Here's a shot of the same Anthracite Brown 981. The top half was taken when it was undergoing PDI (hence no wheel caps yet) and the bottom half is a picture taken after transporting to the showroom. Very different...

seems like early morning for me so far, fog adds to the effect - my area has been rainy the last few months and foggy the last few weeks.

So, an overcast sky maybe? I really like your rims aswell, are they black? I find that i need to add a bit of red on my wheels as i don't have the red calipers because mine is a base cab. Thinking of black rim with a red trim... Not sure yet.

Yes, overcast is getting there pretty well but there are shades in-between, darker browns almost near black as well at dusk..its really amazing. I've had more than one person think it was a black car at night. Getting pictures with a quality camera is essential to seeing anthracite brown - most of my pics are with a phone camera which although software auto-color corrected is not representative of the true colors as I wish it could be.

The brighter daylight shots I have, with more paint detail, i think were shot with a real camera early in ownership (bought Aug/Sept '12) but my others are cell-phone quickies and do not well represent the true richness of the colors in person.

The rims are 20" Vossen CV3's in Matte Graphite with the summer Pzero's - we have winter Michelin Alpin 4 tires on the oem 20" carrera classics now.

Nicoli35, yes have seen before, but enjoy seeing it again! Stunning vehicle! Thanks for reposting!

Here is an Agate Grey, Anthracite Brown Boxster comparison taken from Porsche North Houston:

I don't know if it is just me but the anthracite brown looks better on a boxster than the 991. Due to the shape of the vehicle maybe? Idk...

I hope not! I ordered my anthracite brown 991 based on the color that I saw on a Boxster. Never seen a 991 anthracite brown in real life. I saw the color on the website (C4S) and in the brochure and loved it. Hopefully, I won't be disappointed. Will find out in less than 2 months!

I couldn't have ordered one sight unseen. Mine was on the lot - and the whole sales staff was outside admiring as we drove away. It is just amazing in person. Congrats

LOL, I didn't say anthracite on 991 looks bad... just that in most pictures of anthracite, the Boxster to me stands out a little more. But if you like what you saw on the C4S (website), then you won't be disappointed.
