Goodness! I just realised that I have been posting 981 pictures in the 991 forum! Thousand apologies! I found this site in early July 2012 under the title "Anthracite Brown" when I was looking for pictures of this colour and have ignorantly been adding to the thread based on subject matter, not on model!
Thanks for letting a Boxster intrude into the 991 forum! Will look for an Anthracite Brown thread in the correct place!

Ha ha! Thanks! Think it's a factor of quality of light. I'm practically on the equator while you are up North in Canada. Pictures I take in the morning make the car look grey, in the afternoon and evening, more brown.
Just so you have an idea what Carrera Red and Anthracite Brown looks like, here is a picture of Rolling8ball's car. He specified Carrera Red inserts on his Anthracite Brown 981:

I wanted a unique color even though I love white 911s. Would have been very happy w white w brown interior. But found my anthracite brown with special order umbra interior (brown) - very happy.
I'm interested in redoing my 914-6 in a brown. The Mahogany appears too dark and the cognac too light for me. I'm conflicted, though, between the Macadamia and the Anthracite. They look pretty similar. Any opinions?
I’ve owned a Macadamia car and a Mahogany car. They are both fantastic colors, and they change in various light conditions. Macadamia has a bit more metal flake than Mahogany, but Mahogany is a richer color. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.
