Default 991 look alike

I have owned porsches since 1987 through a C4s 997 Cabriolet (current). I was looking at a 991 in the Porsche Park at Elkhart Lake this past weekend, and it finally dawned on me that there is a strong resemblance between the 991 and the Cheverolet Corvette. I believe it is due to the increase in length and width that gives me the strong resemblance.

That is like saying a Gallardo looks like a Mustang.

I do think it has lost some of it's unique look, but I'm not seeing a corvette. At a distance I have mistaken one for a Vantage and and a XKR, but never a corvette.

Right. And the new Boxter looks like a Toyota MR2. Right. Tsk. Tsk.

You're obviously not in design or the arts. Proportions, volumes, massing, etc... are completely different.

Now I can see if you find the rear taillights Aston-ish...

Ahha- the answer to the question circulating about the Brand/Model dissertation on the rear bumper.

It is there in case the design challenged might confuse it with a Corvette!

I see it (just a bit) as well, it's the door mounted mirrors and something about the curvature/slope of the hood in front. From the rear though it's 100% P-car!!

just stand back and look at the car from the front corner and the similarity is there. I've always owned 911 Porsches and am considering the 991, though after having owned 7 and currently 2, I believe they have become over-priced for what you get.

i dont see it. many cars have door mounted mirrors. Rear could look like an Aston. Front end, Porsche all the way.
