I managed to get the messages to come up, but it will not display old messages only new ones. Once I have read the message it disappears and I do not get it on the screen again.

Have not had any success in receiving email notifications. Also I needed to disable imessage for it to work. If it does not go through the cell network the text message does not appear on the list.

It also sucks that it will not show you who sent the message or have the ability to call the messaging phone.

Looks like this functionality is country / provider specific. I can't get the show notifications to appear on the Bluetooth settings screen despite using latest IOS on iPhone 5

It seems that this function does not work for U.S. ATT iPhones. If someone has better luck, I would love to hear about it.

Legends speak of an ancient prophecy that foretells the arrival of Apple in the aftermarket autosound/satnav industry, arising from a sea of mediocrity, stupidity, and general incompetence to deliver their faithful customers from cheap-*** OEM equipment. Against this day their followers abide, waiting patiently for salvation, even until the end of time.

I just tried this and the send notifications option doesnt appear for the 991 (sept build) however for my 2011 BMW it does. Never noticed this before, so excited to see it work on the bmw at least.

Also its pretty useless to me if its true that only SMS (no imessages) show. Id say 90% the folks i text have iphones

This thread (and others) brings up a interesting question, are there "coders" for this generation of Porsche? There are many for BMW, Audi, VW and others that can retrofit many features which may be enabled in the ROW but not available in the U.S. I had a number of things enabled on a BMW 1M coupe which made the care more livable. Things like not having to "accept" a disclaimer for using the NAV every time you start the car, seat belt chimes and about 15 others.

I have not seen many reference to "coders" while reading this forum.

I got it to work in my car by turning off iMesages in the iPhone menu. There is no way to respond or even tell who is texting you by looking at the PCM only. Its not a very useful function IMO.
