It is very nice, high quality vinyl with stitching that makes it look like leather, but pretty sure it is not.
You do get leather dash on 1LT and 2LT albeit a slightly lower grade of leather than what is offered on the 3LT napa leather(but still considerably better than what was offered on the highest level in the C6). The 3LT also offers more color choices and the ability to add suede seat inserts.

It was not on the 997 Turbo. It was on the 997S. I never said the car was abysmal. I said the 996 versioned 911's had abysmal looking interiors.

As I said, I am sure you know more than me about the C7, but your boys over on the Corvette Forum don't seem to think you get a leather dash, at least the upper portion, unless you get the 3LT package. Whatever it is, I have seen it and it looks good.

Saw my first C7 today -- (drive by on 57th street - so I did not get a close look, nor the interior). The car is a real head turner, for sure. As a new first time 911 owner (550 miles!) I did not consider the C7 at all as an option, even though as a kid those '64 - '67 Vette's were the cars I loved - just a different sort of animal today, really.

Interesting. I am now thoroughly confused as I was told by actual owners and read other threads over there who indicated it was leather. Anyhow, I put a call into my former C6 sales guy to ask him. He is the Vette man and will tell me what it is. Like you, I have seen it in person and it isn't noticeably different in black. In red, gray, Kalahari(tan), etc. you can tell a bit more in the quality. In any event it looks damn nice and a huge improvement over anything they have offered in the past.

Nope. 1LT and 2LT have a stitched vinyl dash. It's not leather. Same color choices. (unless you meant interior)

Is there the equivalent of Godwin's law for which you can measure when a Porsche 911 thread will mention Rolex watches? What is the point of wearing a watch when every single one of us has a smart phone in our pocket with a clock? Oh wait, yeah, it's a ROLEX. I lol'd at that one.

Boy, this thread has gone off in all directions . . . .

In any case, this sure looks like a fun car to me.

Looks nice, but not a fan of the chrome wheels.

Yeah. They can wash both cars and compare risk of laceration.
