Press and hold the Auto button to the right of the temp display. When the display reads MONO both zones are synched.

I have the same problem with my heated seats. At their maximum they feel like i'd expect them to be on low.

You did get the premium plus package based on your list above: P3B- Premium Package with Adaptive Sport Seats Plus.
There is a Premium Package *Plus* with Adaptive Sports Seats Plus - it's an extra $1,700 and gives you ventilated seats and keyless entry. I really wish the keyless entry came standard, but I'm not sure it's worth $1,700.

Red seat belts too?
Yes, red touches and red seat belts. On a red car, I think it looks great. I never liked non-black seat belts and thought they would get dirty or look odd, but I had them on the Boxster Spyder and got use to them. I don't think I will ever want to go back to 'plain black' again now :-) I worried about the painted trim looking cheap - I think the painted center tunnel in 996's and Boxster's looks bad, but here it's only small strips of color on the 991, so I think looks good. Carbon fiber would have been my second choice.

Exactly - it's as if they are broken, it should not be possible to leave them on three bars for more than a few minutes without getting too hot, yet I find myself driving with them on three bars all the time. Is this the same on all seats, are there defective heaters maybe?

Nice - that's exactly what I wanted, it sounds picky, but it was a little annoying before I discovered this feature!

That's really weird about the heated seats. I drove my car yesterday up here in Toronto. I set the heat to full and soon lowered it to lowest because it was so warm. Odd because I'll bet it was colder here. BTW, the heated steering wheel is a blessing from heaven!

I can't figure out what the deal is with the seat or the wheel heating system. One day they will be perfectly adequate, the next day one or both will barely be noticeable. I have a cab (981BS) but the behavior is the same with the top up or down. Maybe I'll stick an ammeter in the fuse holder one of these days and see what's going on.

heated seats effectiveness or heat out put probably depends on the clothing you happen to be wearing at the time ..

But that doesn't explain the inconsistent behavior of the steering wheel.

Amazing looking interior, and really nicely spec'd car! Congrats on the new car. I agree with many of the gripes about what "should be" included at this price point (keyless entry, back-up camera, etc.). I have the heated seats and steering wheel, and find that they work really well. In fact, I am scorched if I leave the heated seats on even two bars (forget about three). Maybe get that checked out at the dealer?

this leads me to believe that the intensity of seat heating or cooling may vary depending on the ambient temperature (either inside or outside the car), and not just at the stated limits. Might not be the first time a German auto maker over-engineered something!

I reached out to my service advisor this morning and he mentioned that there is a threshold temperature for the seat heaters, he would have to look up what that temp is.

I am in Southern California so it's not too surprising that I am probably above that threshold.

I already looked it up for you...see link above.

Just weighed the car today. It's 3,470lb - with a full tank of gas (and not including me!). Personally, I think that's pretty heavy. I think the PDK + 18 way seats + AWD + PDCC + sunroof are likely adding a lot to this total. Motor Trend said their drivers car of the year C4S was 3,401lb.

Still, it's ~400lb lighter than my previous GTR, but almost 500lb more than my well equipped Boster Spyder which I owned just before the 991.
