Default PCM/Bluetooth question

I use BT quite a bit to stream music.
Normally I simply go to the source screen and a few moments after getting into the car my iPhone is detached and i select BT.
But while my car is finding my iPhone and the BT works, when i go to the source screen to select BT for streaming it no longer appears.
can anyone help me, as i don't understand why the BT will work for phone calls, but the car no longer finds BT for streaming?

thanks a lot

Happens to me too. Less since I got the PCM programming upgrade. Guessing it is a program fault that remains. Seldom happens now since the upgrade. Sorry I could not more help. i installed a hard wire and iPhone cradle and rely on that more than BT for audio streaming.

I do not know, except it was an upgrade dated May 2013. Paper work from November 2013 said this:

J# 2 51POZ BODY ELECTRICAL TECH(S):1769 WARRANTY
CUSTOMER STATES THE PCM IS NOT UP TO DATE
PCM DOES NOT PLAY SOUND FROM IPOD AT TIMES
PRODUCED AND SENT VAL, UPDATED PCM TO LATEST SOFTWARE.

i think this is right: (ill coinfirm when i get in car) i added an "aux" bluetooth (the one with the blue logo) and never had that problem again. music streams aux voice uses reg bluetooth, they booth appear in the source. ditched the cable ever since i stumbled on to this.

I have the same issue. 2012 C2S. Multiple phones, iOS and Android all seem to randomly not want to connect to BT audio. It asks me to insert a CD instead (since you access both from the Media button). It does this maybe 20% of the time and after turning the car completely off and letting the accessories power down after a delay, I can try again. If I just turn the car off and on quickly it will always continue to fail.

Thanks guys, I'm going to call the dealer. the strange thing is that its totally random, and if i can use BT for making calls, why doesn't the Source screen locate it for streaming. Very weird.
thanks again

The dealer told me that the AUX was turned of in the PCM. Not sure how, as it had been working, and i did not think it was possible to do that manually. Anyway, that is fixed, the check engine light came on as well coincidentally, fixed with a new gas cap. and finally, looks like the horn relay issue transferred to the 991 from the 997 as that was replaced as well.
all under warranty.

cheers

I have a 13 S. My door tag says May 2013 build but the dealer says it was born in June. Whatever.

I have the Base stereo. If you hit option on the head unit and scroll you get system version. Don't know if it's different for the Bose or the Burnm. but mine says V.4.41. Version I assume. I have the same issue. About 90% of the time when I get into the car like you the car links my iPhone5 within 25 sec. or so. It always links the bluetooth for use of my phone and get the signal bars in the bottom left of the PCM screen but 10% of the time when I scroll though the Source to get past the ipod to the Bluetooth to stream my music from my phone it's simply not there.

Just had my 10,000 mile oil change and the dealer informed me I needed NO updates at all with the entire car. Just chiming in for you. I didn't ask about my bluetooth issue at the time of service. Totally forgot about it. Hope that info helps someone.

I have the same problem with the 4.52 version on a 2013 C4S.
Suddenly the Aux BT for music has disappeared. I have an Iphone 5S and i'm a french customer.

I have tried something and it seems to work.
I think that it's better to pair bluetooth with the telephone and not with the PCM menu.

First of all erase the already existing phones...

Just click PCM in the settings on your phone and let the PCM on the bluetooth menu. The pairing will be possible and it's working for me. I have the ability to phone and to stream music.

Regards,
