DVD Audio and DTS Discs for Burmester
I realized I have a bunch of SACDs (DSD: Direct Stream Digital from Sony) from the early 2000s of some random artists that aren't supported by the Burmester audio system. I decided to track down a few DVD Audio (Meridian Lossless Packing) and a few DTS Audio discs to try out on the system.
If you aren't familiar with DVD Audio, it never really took off. The advantage is that it offers lossless compression that allows for many different sampling rates. The more common would be a 5.1 recording at 96kHz/24 bit or 2.0 at 192kHz/24bit stereo.
The original discs were DVD Audio only discs. Later on some recording studios starting offering Dual-Discs that have one side CD and the other DVD Audio. I bought most of them on Amazon. I got the Black Album straight from Metallica.com for much less than used on Amazon.
Here is the best listing of discs available:
http://www.quadraphonicquad.com/dvdalist.htm
Most of them sound "pretty" good on the system. You do loose the ability to use Burmester DSP modes like Live. I found that I needed to adjust the settings as the low-end was is a little flat as compared to a 320kbs Spotify or a normal 44.1kHz/16bit CD.

Drifting
In reference to the pictures on page 1 - I like the white car with the brown house. And you sure do like your Griot's products! (so do I).
Correction: I see now that you have re-used the bottles, not necessarily the products therein.

License Plate Frame
Well, I just got two things in the mail this week. I'm not sure I like either one. I really dislike plate frames. I don't know why. I just don't like them. Normally, I would just leave the bare plate, but I thought I would try and see if I could find something simple that I liked for my new vanity plate that is coming.
I found this slim edge cover on amazon to give a try. It doesn't actually hold the plate like most frames do. It's just a simple edge cover. It is made of metal and looks to be powder coated black. I think I'll leave it on for a while and see if it grows on me. I'm not wild about it.

New CoverKing Satin Strech Car Cover
After returning my AutoBody Armor cover from CoverKing, I got the Indoor Only Satin Stretch to replace it. I've had this exact cover for my S2000 and my M3 and loved it. The fit was flawless on my previous cars.
http://www.coverking.com/custom-car-...car-cover.html
They are super soft, easily washable, and look nice when on the car. I decided to go obnoxious this time and get a red one to match the calipers. It is super, duper red, but I guess it looks cool with the red Griot shelves. It certainly stands out.
Now this time I just like it. I don't love it. For some reason it is like $50 more than my M3 cover was for a smaller car. It doesn't fit flawlessly. It looks like my car is wearing it's Dad's cover. They added that stupid clear plastic plate window. It doesn't say anything about that feature on any of the CoverKing literature. I'm going to call them on Monday and see why it is not noted anywhere. I guess I see the point if you own like 25 cars, but I hate it. It doesn't line up properly, makes the cover less durable and washable, and could easily scratch the paint. I'll follow-up with their response.
By the way, they charged me a 15% restocking fee to return the other cover that they swore was baby soft. (maybe in comparison to a Brillo Pad...) I've been a loyal customer but am losing my patience with them.
Be sure to call them and clarify pricing. Their website and call center pricing isn't the same.

We had a cook-out at my house today, and my long-time friend brought his 997.2 GT3. I was too busy cooking and hosting to uncover my car and take some shots of both. I ran out when no one was looking, grabbed the camera, and took a few crappy shots. I'm trying to convince him we need to get a Go-Pro and make a few videos of a 997.2 GT3 vs 991 C2S Powerkit.

Thanks for the obvious time and effort it took to provide the thread.
Any interest in getting a dyno of the X51? Haven't seen anyone with it yet and trying to decide on the engine.

Yeah, I want to get it on a dyno. I just hit 1,000 miles this weekend. According to the Powerkit literature, the car won't make maximum power until around 6,000 miles. I'll probably hit that later this year and then have it done, so I don't know if that is going to help you with your decision.

Thanks, makes sense.

991 Front Trunk Liner
I got my trunk liner last week. There isn't much to say about it. It fits like a glove and looks really nice. You lose a little bit of usable space. It is harder plastic than I thought it would be.

This is before I wiped it out. The main reason I got it is to through my sweaty shirts in after Crossfit.
My friend with the GT3 gave me this sweet calendar that he had laying around. I may hang it up in the garage.
