Default Aluminum or plastic

Are the interior trim pieces on the 991S aluminum, plastic or plastic with an aluminum facing? I'm referring to the door handles, belt line pieces, trim surrounding the speakers and sport's design steering wheel. In other words all the shiny pieces.
A buddy was asserting they are plastic, are they? Thanks

Feels like plastic to me unless you paid for aluminum.

The shiny trim is plastic unless an option was selected. I think the 991 door pulls are actually aluminum - they get cold.

Until you see the aluminum, that is.

Do you guys know if the trim pieces are clip on or adhesive?

I'm looking at picking up a car that has Brushed Aluminum trim and center console and switching it to Mahagony. Not sure how hard that is.

Thanks

Jeff

Definitely plastic. A bit disappointing on a $110K+ car.

Porsche would probably respond claiming weight was the consideration for the plastic selection saying it saved 3 tablespoons of gas over 1.6 million miles and improved 0-60 times by 1/15000 second.

Jeff, don't do it! . If you must, save the OEM pieces so you can switch back when you want to sell. That will help your future sales process.

We laugh at the idea that something as trivial as interior trim might make a difference, but we should also count our blessings. Curb weight is the sum of a lot of smaller numbers. If there isn't some annoying product manager saying "Nein!" to almost everything the designers suggest, the result is a Jaguar or BMW "sports car" that weighs 400 pounds more than it should.

It's the expresso / cognac interior, I think the brushed aluminum will clash?

I think it will be fine. Drive it for a while, and see if you like it or want to change it out. But save the parts if you do.
