Any concerns with the Halo seat for daily driving? (or is it simply a 'head containment' that does not protrude as much as a halo?).
Thanks for your feedback.

No--pretty even.

Maybe not a full halo. Isn't much of a bother. I just make sure to really look over my shoulder for backing up or switching lanes if I'm not sure who is around me.

Great set-up, and impressive that you can use the car as a DD even when outfitted like this during track season! Perhaps now that the calendar is about to flip to April the snow will be gone for good (today in LI was a bit of a surprise) and you'll be able to hit the track soon!

Paradocs,

Great to see that you got the bar installed. Your car looks beautiful! Thanks again for the purchase and doing an honest write up!

Keep us posted. On top of the airbag light, most of the memory features stop working when you swap seats. Got all my settings done before I swap my seats, but would be nice if there was a workaround this too.

A roll-cage needs to happen for me... I wonder how it would fit with the stock seats...

Let me know how that works. I'm on the same page.

My master tech said it shouldn't be a problem... I'm checking out the bbi cage Serge as as well (SM_ATL). I think I'll order it, have it painted guards red, and have it install it. Worst case scenario (if its a tight fight with the stock seats) I have to buy new seats.

Should be fine. It better be fine--I plan on putting the stock heated seats back in for winter around November. I'm 6'2" with relatively long legs and it's fine with the OMP seats. Plenty of room. They can move back even more on the sliders without contacting the rollbar.

Cool! Thanks! Are you hitting Watkins this summer?

Mounting points for harnesses or for seats or for rollbar? The sub-strap is mounted to a Brey-Krause bar under the seat. Based on advice from my shop, we didn't want to start drilling the floorpan to do mounting plates--too many lines, etc., running through there. The seats are bolted to the floor, on Recaro sliders and Planted side mounts on the driver's side, and Brey-Krause side mounts on the passenger side. The GMG bar is bolt-in, not welded. Goes to outer seat belt mounts and rear suspension mounts.
Quick question: It bolts into existing mounts, correct? No drilling required, or installation of new mounts. You only need to make cuts into the carpet, right? Thanks!

Rennlist members,

The roll bar is designed to work with stock seats and you can still have plenty of seat travel like our LMS bars for the 996 and 997.

The fitting is really right but this is the first batch of bars. We will make some minor revisions to make the install a little easier for the next batch of roll bars.

Cool, Thanks Jerry! can you comment regarding using existing mounts? Besides making small cuts into the carpet is there any drilling involved? Thanks!

OP, I have the same halo seats in my race / de / street car, there are seats with removable halo pieces but I was surprised at how they did not bother on street driving.

Served me well when I crashed
