I believe it is part of the PED that you can set it so that when you turn off the car the seat moves back a bit and the steering wheel goes up making it easier to exit the car. It may sound like something for an old guy like me but it cuts down on the wear to the seat side bolster.

That's a different function called Comfort Entry. It does not require Entry & Drive... it just requires power seats with memory package.

I don't use that function. Easier to mitigate bolster wear & tear than small motor W&T.

Does anyone read their manual anymore?

You can find a lot of useful nuggets in there.

BTW, if you accidentally pop the frunk with a garden hose there's a good chance that your engine cover also popped open (random).

How does the engine compartment pop open if you are outside the car with PDE? I noticed mine was open yesterday after I waived my hand in front of the P emblem on the hood to open the frunk. Only reason I noticed, is because when I locked up by pushing the button on the door handle, I didn't get the double beep. I checked the engine compartment and it was open. Once I closed it I got the double beep.

Happened to me on two separate occasions with the garden hose / frunk pop.

The engine cover also popped...

My cab has a powered lift mechanism to get to the engine or I'd go play around with it, but has anyone other than duxsi had their engine compartment pop open unintentionally? I didn't think it was possible but as I said, my cab functions differently to get to the engine. Hmm. Sent from mobile using Rennlist

I have never had the engine cover pop when I opened the frunk with PED. Nor do I remember reading anything of the sort in the manual. I'll have to look it up.

Folks, what I said was that on two separate occasions while hosing down the car (with the key in my pocket) the frunk popped open AS DID did the engine cover.

As we all know, the frunk ALWAYS pops open if you have entry and drive and you happen to have the key into your pocket while hosing down the front emblem of your car. The engine cover was definitely a surprise.

I did not say that my engine cover had ever opened when opening my frunk in the conventional manner.

I was surprised by this while waxing the front end with the key in my pocket. Trunk kept popping open.

Didn't want to spend the $200 Porsche charges for the optional owner's manual.
