Default Porsche Entry and Drive

On my new C4S, I have Porsche Entry and Drive (PED). I did not have this feature on my 991 C2. I have a few questions:

For those of you who have PED, do you like it? If so, did you like it immediately or did it take some time to get used to?

Has anyone removed the "dummy" key and disengaged PED? I see that it is not as simple to remove the dummy key as it used to be. It used to be that you needed to simply turn the dummy key to the left and hold it there for 10 seconds or so. Now, emergency operation must be performed:
http://www.porscheownersmanuals.com/...remote-control

If one does remove the dummy key, are you then able to simply use the regular key and operate the car as if it does not have PED?

Finally, if you remove the dummy key via emergency operation, is restoring PED to its original state as simple as inserting the dummy key back in the ignition?

Thank you.

It's not too difficult to remove the dummy key, but why bother? I've used this system for 18 months and it's very good. Key stays in my pocket. Car starts every time.

I have it on my 4S and really like it. I can keep my real key in my pocket, the doors unlock once you are close to the vehicle, lock with just a push of the button on the door handle. The removal of the key is very simple with the tool attached to the fuse box door and if you take it out you can operate with your regular key and then just reinstall the dummy key and you're back to PED. You will like after you get used to it.

Thanks, fellas. I'm sure you're both right and I will enjoy/appreciate it when I become used to it.

Its a great feature! No fumbling with keys, etc...

Enjoy it!

Best part is opening up the frunk with just a wave of your hand.

Is that a feature that was added on MY2014?

I like it too after getting used to it. Two wishes:
1) a start/stop button instead of dummy key
2) sensor for the locking on the door handle instead of black button

I'm not sure but I think it was around on earlier models too if you got the Entry and Drive option.

1) I actually prefer the dummy key as it just feels more real....like you are starting your Porsche the way it was meant to be started, not like you start an Audi or BMW.

^ This.

Why be like everyone else.

I hear that the upcoming 991.2 will start with voice command ...

I never knew about this. Tried it. Held my hand there wondering if I had just been punk'd. But it worked. Thanks.
