Finally got my car, I am in love!!
First of all, let me introduce myself here. I have been reading the forums for the last few months as I ordered my car back on 1/14/2014 and have been learning as much as humanly possible about these cars, the experiences from all of you, and the common do's and dont's.
It was a grueling wait, especially the last week when I knew the boat had docked in RI on 4/9 and it was on US Soil but it was extremely worthwhile. I have always dreamed of one day having my very own 911 and I still am in total shock when I look in my garage and I have this beautiful car staring right back at me? Tell me I am alone on this? I am coming from many BMW M3's including an E46 ZCP, and two E92 V8's which I adored. I was originally going to get a Cayman S but I was convinced to try a base 911 and I never looked back.
Here are a few specs on my build:
2014 911 Carrera S - 7 speed Manual
Agate Grey / 18 Way Black Adaptive Seats
Carrera Classic Wheels
PDLS
SPASM
PSE
Sport Chrono
Bose
Folding Mirrors
SportDesign Steering Wheel
Crests in Headrests
Red Seatbelts
Colored Wheelcaps
I had originally ordered Guards Red but changed my mind the day after and decided to go with a color that was not too flashy (if that exists for these cars).
I picked her up on Good Friday and a good Friday it was indeed. I have since put almost 200 miles on the car and I can't believe how much fun this machine is to drive. I have not stopped smiling since I got into it for the first time and for me it really is a dream come true. I am blown away at how precise and amazing the 7 speed manual is. I test drove PDK and while I'm sure I'll never work out hard enough to shift at those speeds , it is certainly not for me. The manual transmission is mated perfectly to this car especially when in Sport Plus. I thought I would hate the automatic rev matching on the manual while in Sport Plus as it takes some of the human effort out of it, but I find myself all of a sudden really liking perfect rev matching downshifts combined with the burbling of the Sport Exhaust. It is truly an amazing combination that I am happy I ordered.
I have to thank Paul Miller Porsche and especially my wonderful salesguy, Norman Mandell. I had such a good experience for my first Porsche and he will be my "Porsche guy" from now on. He has been doing this since 1983 and made me feel right at home and walked me through every option when I was ordering the car and helped make sense of every button in the car on Friday when I picked it up. He was straight up with me on everything and is a stand up guy. I highly recommend using Norman at Paul Miller if you are in the NJ/NY/PA area.
I only have iPhone pics as I literally have not stopped driving it but here are a few pictures including some rolling shots my buddy took today on the way home from the golf course. I am an extremely lucky guy and look forward to meeting some of you in person.
Not too many mods planned but I did have the dealers prep the car with the clear LED turn signals which look fantastic.
PS - Is it wrong to only want to be in Sport Plus every time I turn the engine on??

Congratulations!
Car looks amazing. Agree with you 100% about the transmission. I can't imagine how excited you must be to have your car. So cool to get it on Good Friday. Great option choices
Do you have any interior pics?

Very nice congrats!!
Red belts look great...
Nice they did the clear sides straight away....
I've been in the car business since 1982
This was the first time I ordered a car as a customer and I must say I am so glad I did as it appears you are. Well worth the wait, IMO
Got up early and drove mine today. It is so nice at 800 miles
Enjoy
