Looking at a cert. 911 - advice please
I'll start by saying this won't be my first P-car, previous include 2006 CTT, 04 996, 99 Boxter, 944 N/A and 944 Turbo.
I sold my CTT after the coolant tubes busted while going down the highway and 3500 later.... not under warranty and the way the dealer handled it made me mad enough to take a break from Porsche.
I'm now thinking of jumping back in with a Porsche certified 2013 991 with a little over 13k on the odometer. It's a base C2 for about 73k.
... I've read all the reviews on electric steering, 7 gears, etc. so I know what I'm in for regarding less feedback, longer shifts from 4-5 gear etc.
My real question is for current owners regarding reliability... This will be my daily driver...I understand the maintenance/service interval costs but what about the catastrophic issues earlier 911s had such as IMS/RMS etc... have any of these gremlins yet surfaced with the 991?
Lastly, this would be my first Porsche Certified warranty purchase... can anyone comment on how receptive Porsche dealers are when there is an issue? I.e. do they treat it like a new car warranty or try to find a reason not to fix it under warranty?
Thanks in advance for the advice.. I've tried to do some research before asking the question so hopefully I don't sound like a total idiot.

I had a 996 under CPO and although the dealer was real specific about what was and was not covered under warranty, once they determined that it *was* covered, they fixed it with no issues, free loaner, etc.
It's a warranty, and it's not as comprehensive as the original bumper-bumper, so go into with your eyes open.

Also, Porsche has been running the 9A1 motor since about the 997.2 from 2009.

The 9A1 motors can use oil faster than previous engines. Some do, anyway. Around 1 litre per 1000kms is not unusual. Sorry, you'll have to do the imperial conversion. From personal experience and talking to other owners its considered normal by Porsche, you get some blue smoke at startup, but otherwise it's harmless.
