This is my experience as well - chips are more of an issue for reds.

My last car was a pearl white. While it looked better if it was just washed, it would look pretty clean from ten feet even after a few weeks. The red needed to be washed after about a week under similar circumstances. Dirt detracted from the appearance of red more than white.

The color of dust in your area can play a role though. In most areas it's some shade of gray, but in some places it has more of a brown tone. If that's your area, a red car may be a bit easier on dust and dirt in the locale.

Intersting on the color of the dust. Makes sense. I am in Omaha Ne. So its more of a brown dust to grey. A gal I know had a pearl white AUDI and traded it in for a guards red Carrera S. She swears the red is easier to keep up.

I had a few cars back a white Cayman S and it could go a week between washings pretty easy. The black GTR I traded for the Porsche GTS would go a day or two and it was horrible. The white while it had it on there too, it would for sure hide it better.

White all the way. Use a spray wash/detailer once a week, like Meguiars Wash and Wax Anywhere, and your car will always look new. The brighter or darker the color, the harder to keep clean.

I had a GT Silver 981 Cayman S, the easiest color to keep clean in my experience.

Sapphire Blue, not so much!

Thanks, but that sapphire is a nice color for sure.

Red Porsche, white truck. Truck always looks dirty. Porsche looks fab. Of course, the Porsche gets cleaned probably once every two weeks. The truck? Ran it through a drive through carwash once about five years ago.

Very good point, sir. My sapphire blue is not easy to keep clean, but I don't mind it one bit.

Red will look cleaner longer, but paint swirls are a lot more visible on red cars.

Silver is easiest. White is also easy. Red is lovely but much more work.
