Yep! I have plenty. It's an obsessive compulsive disorder but not enough to clinically diagnosis. Borderline is bad enough. Lol

I have a 2016 Boxster GTS, a 2016 Merc S550 4Matic, (and a 2008 Tundra for hunting and farm stuff) and I look every day. Without fail. And I drive less than 10K miles a year now!
I would like to get another air cooled car, but I'm probably too late. I may add a nice 991.1 manual coupe at some point, but plan to keep the Boxster long term. Always wanted an S class to try but will probably go back for our 11th Audi in a couple years before the warranty is up on the MB. Not terribly impressed there.

I'm honestly starting to think that a drug addiction would be healthier (and cheaper!)

One limiting factor for me is I learned from the huge bath I took on my 991TT I just won't ever buy another PDKesque sports car ever again. Hated a sports cars without a third pedal.
Really starting to limit the market for me across the board.

In the long run, it wouldn't be either.

Third peddle? PDK sucks if you know how to drive. Next auto transmission for me is a Hearse.

After driving friends cars and the PDK I found them incredibly fast, but boring and so I'm in the same boat.

After I got my 991 I kept looking at other cars and thinking why didn't I get a Corvette that has backup camera and many standard features I don't have on a moderately options 991 C4S. Then a year later I read about how reliable Porsche is and all the problems people have had with the Corvette and I felt better.

The other car I was seriously considering was a pre-owned R8 with the gated shifter, but the 991 is just such a more usable car in the real world. When I saw the new R8 was automatic only I was pretty upset that's another possible car to cross off the list next time I'm shopping for one

Folks have asked me how long I keep a car, so I once did a spreadsheet and it worked out to an average of 13 months. That was a while ago, and since then I've had a few cars that didn't make it to even a year. Afraid to update the spreadsheet right now.

I'm hoping that my current pair (981BS and 640iGC) will keep me happy for a while longer.

The toy cars, with date of purchase. At each step the prior one was traded in on the new one:

4/94: 89 911 C4 Cab
3/95: 95 911 C4 Cab (new)
6/96: 96 Ferrari 355 Spider (new)
10/98: 98 Lamborghini Diablo SV, Monterey Edition (new)
9/99: 97 Ferrari 550 Maranello
4/00: 00 911 C4 Cab (new)
10/00: 00 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante (new)
8/01: 01 Ferrari 360 Modena (new)
6/02: 02 Maserati Spyder (new)
3/03: 03 911 Turbo (new)
5/04: 01 Ferrari 550 Maranello
8/05: 05 Maserati Spyder 90th Anniversary Edition (new)
4/06: 06 Ferrari 430 Spider (new)
8/08: 08 Ferrari 599 GTB (new)
9/09: 09 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster (new)
12/10: 11 Audi R8 V10 Spyder (new)
10/11: 08 Ferrari 599 GTB, a repurchase of the same car I previously owned
11/12: 12 Aston Martin Virage Volante (new)
3/14: 14 Jaguar F-Type V8S Roadster (new)
5/16: 17 911 Targa 4S (new)

I shudder to think how much better my retirement account would look without this insanity.

It's partly an age/generational thing. I'm sure there's lots of young folks that are far better drivers than I ever was, but never had to start from a stop on a hill with no "HOLD" function. From their point of view, why bother learning? PDKs are faster/better/smarter and, if you don't know what you're missing, why even think about it when the alternative is both easier and more efficient?
I wasn't good in sports but could aways drive better and faster than most of my peers.
Learned how to shift gears in 1969 and have never looked back. Something very pleasing about using your feet, hands and arms at the same time to change force vectors. Really hated the PDK, which is why I traded it on the MB after a year. If I'm going to sail along pushing one pedal at a time, I might as well get a heated massage while doing it. VERY expensive lesson that does not require repeating.

Well, you can add the new NSX to the list as well. Too bad. Made in Ohio and one of my coworker's husband works at the plant. They seem really enthusiastic about the car and its build qualities (race fans too). But, auto only, so I'll never have one.

Update your spreadsheet and let us know the results. I am thinking, and hoping, that your new average time for ownership is less than 12 months per car.

That's quite a list. Are you the 19th Earl of Bandfordshire?
