This has been the case since at least the C6 generation.
Yet with each iterative model change GT sales and demand have remained unfazed by the Corvette.
I don’t see things changing.

Yes, I sure hope a ton of Porsche fans buy a new Vette, so there are even more 992 GT3s available for mere mortals like me.

I’m very skeptical of a 5.5L flat plane crank. Especially from GM. I think the old rule of thumb was that anything over 5L was asking for trouble with vibration/balancing issues. Look at Ford’s 5.2L flat plane engine. My understanding is they’ve had problems.
While the idea of a 5.5L flat plane V8 that revs to 9k sounds awesome to me, I think I’ll wait a year to see how this one pans out. I don’t think a Corvette would ever replace a Porsche for me, but I could see adding variety to the garage if GM delivers.

new engine tech is risky but how much worse can it be than my 997 gt3? that had radiator line fail on track causing spill fluid and bad spin. then lsd failure causing instability on braking even straight line. i will take risk on z06 but wait for second yr its available..

I agree. Visually there some weird things about the C8. I feel like it’s so close, yet so far away.
