992 GT3 is RS

+1. "Trackcar does European Delivery" is one of the all time best threads on Rennlist! Just went back and reread the entire thread - a great experience and read! The epitome of what these cars are all about - the experience of what the cars can bring and enjoyment of sharing it with friends. The newer generation will always perform better than the last generation. The older generations, in my opinion, will not look dated. Even today, the 944 Turbo still has great styling to my eyes! I cannot say that about some of the other sports car makers.
I doubt I will do another drive holiday that will come close to those two mancations

Agreed 100%, addition not replacement... The 997.2 will always be the more fun all rounder. The newer car for the speed fix at the track...

Having had the privilege of joining Trakcar on both of those ED adventures I can tell you that there are few experiences for a car enthusiast that surpass those adventures. And some of the stories along the way that were probably not documented in the thread... EPIC!

I read the title, Though well that is good news.
Read the 6 points. Ok, a personal view which I respect.
Thought of the BMW G80 M3 as a resistance to change. LOL how ugly it is and looks better as an SUV.
So the new 992 GT3, or GT3 RS is a beautiful car. It has an amazing design. I can only compare the front to stumbling upon a stack of playboys as a teenager. LOL
I am still undecided between that and the Turbo S w Carbon seats. One is a daily another is a very track focused tool.
Porsche is going the right way. It has a huge array of cars to give everyone what they want.

Looks like the swan neck wing can be taken off of the car easily so I'm thinking I'll just get a PDK GT3 and drive w/o the wing on the street and for autox. And since I only do the occasional track driving once or twice a year now, I'll only put the wing back on then.

yea,... so I get the proclamation that this new 992 GT3 is SEVENTEEN seconds faster around the Nordschleife,... and the pundits are claiming a lot of that has to do with (wishbone & ) the new Cup2R's.
I'm doubting a lot of street driving GT3 owners (non RS), will run those tires,... so then it's down to the suspension upgrades. 10 extra HP in the 4.0 engine doesn't really tingle a lot of 991.2 GT3 owners.
so I'm thinking there will be plenty of people who wait & go for the RS. I think Porsche is holding out on some add'l noteworthy enhancements in the RS,... and that's when people are really going to jumpup&down

Waited to see what the 992 GT3 might be like and it is true to the endless spyshots 'leaked' prior to release...nice looking, nothing groundbreaking compared to the car it replaced and for me not an RS based on specs...hope the driving experience proves otherwise.
The 'leaked' photos of the upcoming 992 GT3RS indicates it will have a wing closer in size to CUP cars so great for track use only however might look out of place on streets...that would be a shame and so marks an end of era to me for the 3RS. If the wing becomes active then that would be a shame...adds unnecessary maintenance cost down the line.
Looks like we may have to wait for the 992.2 to see if anything groundbreaking is introduced or the curtains are brought down on NA GT cars perhaps with a bigger engine unless the 10k rev line limit on the 992 GT3 is a clue to what to expect for the 3RS...higher reving engines and more power supported by the new front suspension change...that would be groundbreaking and an interesting proposition.
...we shall see or perhaps the 991 was a swansong moment for Porsche NA GT cars...built without too much electronic gimmicks.

My two cents: As a 991.1 GTS driver who does a fair share of track days, the 992 GT3 is exactly what I wanted (so much that I signed the order form today, hurray).
- Way more attractive rear wing than the one of the 991 GT3, which I disliked so much I actually considered a Touring for a while.
- Super nice exterior in general. I wasn't a fan at all when the 992 launched, but the GT3 nails it.
- Up-to-date interior that looks sleek.
- Apparently it performs better than a 991 GT3 RS, which ensures that I will never ever have to blame the machine for sub-optimal lap times.
- They eliminated the 992 "Braun Trockenrasierer", thank God.
So for me, Porsche has done an amazing job here, I could not be happier and can't wait to kick this beauty around the Bilster Berg.
Greeting from Germany!

I've been wanting to try that awesome track. I think even some totally stock 991 GT3/RS cars were too loud to drive there - the new car's exhaust should be a bonus for you
